The ideal construction project manager is an energetic, motivated and compassionate individual who will be responsible for the management of multiple ground up commercial construction projects with oversight from senior management as needed.

Your basic responsibilities will include:

- Work with superintendents, sub-contractors, vendors, city inspectors and laborers to complete project within budget, on time and safely

- Read civil structural, architectural and MEP plans to ensure quality control during all phases of the build

- Understand and utilize our processes to complete a project accurately, on time and within budget

- Ensure on-time delivery of materials per project schedule

- Manage budget and financial reporting to ensure adherence to project budget

- Ensure payments are made and received in timely manner

- Communicate project progress with administration

- Responding to Owner's requirements and incorporate necessary adjustments with administration approval

- Foster relationships with our vendors, sub-contractors and other business associates

Skill sets required

- Ability to read civil, structural, architectural and MEP plans in detail

- Detail oriented, efficient and 'can do' attitude

- Strong verbal and written communication

- Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish

- Utilize project management construction software


Qualifications

- 3 years minimum commercial project management experience in ground up construction required

- Bachelor's degree required

VIEW JOBS 2/28/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-05-28T00:00 GENERAL DESCRIPTION The Construction Project Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing construction of utility scale renewable energy generation projects to ensure the fulfillment of project requirements in terms of schedule, cost, and quality as well as proactively track and communicate key project risks to stakeholders. Main accountabilities: * Support the completion of preliminary engineering specifications of construction and supply contracts for assigned projects * Contribute to the development of detailed project management and construction strategy including implementation plans, budgets, and schedules * Participate in the review and approval of vendors and suppliers * Coordinate with Project Controls staff regarding the scheduling and budgeting of the project * Support Finance teams with due diligence and project economic models * Ensure that project variance analysis reporting to senior management is provided on a regular and timely basis for key risks, project costs, and schedules * Manage the integration of development and execution functions for assigned projects * Ensure and coordinate all internal and external relations necessary to ensure the development and delivery of the project * Supervise and maintain current knowledge of the overall project by assisting with the resolution of differences and reviewing plans and procedures to institute changes as needed * Maintain detailed knowledge and familiarity with contracts and documents in order to ensure that work is executed in accordance with the expectations that have been defined and approved and that the work fulfills contractual requirements * Develop effective relationships with contractors and suppliers * Develop effective and supportive relationships with colleagues paying special attention to field team members * Support and champion needs of site construction teams * Promote safety at all job sites and set an exemplary example when visiting sites * Identify, prepare and support continuous improvement initiatives * Additional duties as required Direct reports: None; will manage multiple external contractors Travel: 25% - 50% Minimum qualifications: * 5-10+ years in energy project development, an environmental or engineering field, or a directly related field * Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software including MS Project * Knowledge of construction management and constructing methods for large projects, contract management, procurement, supply chain management, environmental and building permitting, and transportation logistics * Basic knowledge of applicable industry standards and codes including Uniform Building Code (UBC), International Building Code (IBC), American Concrete Institute (ACI), American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI), National Fire Protection Association, (NFPA), and American National Standards Institute (ANSI) * Basic knowledge of land surveying methods and practices, aerial photography and mapping (including UTM and NAD coordinate systems), and geospatial references * Ability to interpret documents produced in AutoCAD, GIS, and other discipline-relevant software * Understanding of basic financial principles (IRR, NPV, Depreciation, etc) Behavioral requirements: * Ability to quickly understand the basics of a variety of subjects relating to wind and solar energy including resource studies, environmental and cultural studies, transmission issues, public relations, public policy, sales, and civil and electrical engineering * Strong interpersonal skills and high attention to details * Strong analytical and quantitative skills * Ability to be self-motivated and perform job tasks in a relatively unstructured environment with little supervision * Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask * Ability to travel extensively domestically and internationally, by plane, by car, and with short notice * Strong written and verbal communication skills Physical demands & working conditions: * Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to frequently perform physical tasks including standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching approximately 75% of the time while on wind farm sites; ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment * Walking: Ability to walk 1 mile per day, including across unpaved and rough surfaces when on wind farm sites * Speech/Reading: Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form * Lifting: Ability to frequently lift items weighing up to 60 pounds and to occasionally lift items weighing between 60 and 100 pounds * Climbing: o Ability to climb turbine towers o Weight, including harness and tools, must be in accordance with the weight limit as specified by the ANSI Fall Protection Standards * Vision/Hearing: Ability to interpret and follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form * Tolerance to Extreme Weather Conditions: Ability to work in adverse weather conditions 25% of the time while on wind farm sites * Safety: Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary EDP Renovaveis Houston TX
