Searching for an experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager that to bid, plan and supervise commercial construction projects from bidding to closeout. Ideal candidate will have previous experience building restaurants, convenience stores and/or other one story, ground up projects. Minimum qualifications are-

  • Ability to do manual, accurate take-offs
  • Estimating
  • Competitively bidding; submitting bids
  • Construction scheduling
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Ability to bid multiple projects while overseeing construction of other projects
  • Ensure they are completed with superior quality and on time.
  • An excellent Construction Project Manager candidate must be well-versed in all construction methodologies & procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve a quality built building, on time and on budget.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to determine the complete specifications of the project
  • Negotiate contracts with subcontractors to reach profitable agreements
  • Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
  • Determine needed resources from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
  • Plan and monitor all construction operations and schedule all phases to ensure deadlines will be met
  • Partner with and direct Project Superintendent to reach goal of quality end product, on time and on budget.
  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports

Requirements

  • Proven experience as commercial construction project manager with freestanding building experience.
  • Superintendent experience is a plus.

VIEW JOBS 7/7/2021 12:00:00 AM 2021-10-05T00:00 Job Summary: Responsible for executing store construction projects (new/expansion/remodels and fuel projects) under the guidance of the VP of Store Planning and Development, and completing projects at/below budget and on/before the project deadline consistent with the approved scope of work. This position will be generally performed at any of our existing locations or new construction projects within the Greater-Knoxville and Greater-Chattanooga areas. Essential Job Functions: * Plan, organize and manage resources for cost-effective, quality project(s) that is completed within scope and budget. * Prepare timely requisitions for major equipment, fixtures, and supply items. * Review proposals and architectural documents with our Architect and Engineers. * Ensure contractors perform in accordance with plans and specifications. * Provide documentation and records throughout the construction process. * Ensure change orders are pre-approved. * Determine authorizations exist prior to incurring commitments for company expenditures. * Anticipate opportunities and/or occurrences that could impact the construction schedule. * Coordinate remodel activities to minimize sales loss. * Exercise independent judgment on moderately complex tasks * Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform more complex tasks * Utilize experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and perform moderate and difficult tasks * Coordinate and verify documentation and compliance of SWPPP, OSHA regulations, construction contracts and capital management practices throughout all projects. * Train department members on less complicated tasks and moderately complicated tasks * Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provides feedback to direct reports. * Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation. * Responsible for attending on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical, electrical, chemical, construction management or related field OR 5+ years of construction management experience. * Demonstrated knowledge of grocery store equipment, fixtures, building systems and infrastructure. * Ability to work with design consultants to facilitate design development and construction drawings, ensuring accuracy of bid documents * Ability to prepare and guide construction scheduled effectively. * Ability to read and understand construction documents. * Ability to lead retail management and contractors through a moderately difficult project or a difficult project. * Experience with construction project management tools * Strong organization and time management skills * Proven supervisory/leadership, conflict management and negotiation skills * Ability to communicate with all levels within the organization and external vendors * Proficient with Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint and Outlook * Ability to travel independently up to 75% of the time to project sites within these markets is required * Intermediate knowledge of e-Pro, and Sitefolio; Procore, preferred * Working knowledge of capital projects: new remodel, expansion remodel, interior remodel and/or fuel; preferred Benefits of working for Food City: 401(k) with company match, Employee Stock Ownership Plan, Weekly Pay Checks with Direct Deposit, Company paid Life and Disability Insurance, Medical Plan with wellness benefits, Dental Plan, Paid Holidays, Paid Vacations, Associate Offers, and so much more!
