If so, the State of Maine wants to hear from you The Bureau of General Services (BGS) has a growing need for individuals with project management, design, and architectural or engineering skills.

Experience in the design and construction of renewable energy projects is a plus. As a Construction Project Manager for the Bureau of General Services, you will:

Manage major capital projects from initial planning through completion. Develop design specifications, project plans, schedules, and cost estimates for building construction, alterations, and repairs to existing structures. Manage the development, design and construction of energy conservation projects.

Inspect facilities, prepare reports and make recommendations for capital improvement projects. Successful candidates will excel at: Communicating complex concepts appropriate to the audience.

Managing energy and life cycle cost data for proposed and operating projects. Developing, forecasting and managing project budgets. Overseeing high-impact projects.

Cultivating collaborative partnerships with project personnel, contractors and governmental officials. Conducting and monitoring the procurement of State of Maine projects. Thriving in a dynamic environment.

Preference will be given to applicants with a strong understanding of sustainable design, facilities operations, and energy conservation measures. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Knowledge of design, materials, researach, construction, and project scheduling/management.

Knoweldge of federal and state regulations and guidelines pertaining to processes associated with deisgn and construction. Knowledge of engineering principles and practices. Knowledge of management practices, organizational change technologies and human resources management.

Knowledge of project managent principles and applications. Ability to collaborate with professional and technical staff members. Ability to plan, direct and manage moderately complex capital construction projects for the Staet of Maine.

Ability to understand complex issues and negotiate amicable resolutions within a group setting. Ability to anticipate and analyze problems, reach logical conclutions and make sound decision. Ability to explain public works projects in various public gatherings.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree and a minimum of five (5) years' experience in the design and construction of buildings or, in lieu of the bachelor's degree, a minimum of 9 years' experience in design or construction project management.

LICENSING/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS : Preferred: Licensure as an Architect issued by the Maine State Board for Licensure of Architects, Landscape Architects and Interior Designers or licensure as a Professional Engineer as issued by the Maine State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers.
