The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are adding a Construction Project Manager to our New Construction team in Austin. We are looking for someone who likes to develop and manage project plans, schedules, and scopes of work in a fast-paced atmosphere. You will be joining an established and diverse team where you will be able to make an immediate impact. You are someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and are passionate about solving problems and achieving goals. Additionally, some responsibilities you will have include:

• Transitioning project management and engineering activities through the design to construction phase.

• Support and provide input to development strategies, goals, and objectives specific to project execution at each project phase

• Developing and managing project plans, schedules, and scopes of work.

• Preparing client and subcontractor change orders.

• Assume financial responsibility for projects including accurate, timely, and relevant reporting to stakeholders

• Monitor, control, and report on the financial performance of projects.

• Responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive construction plan and monitors progress towards goals to anticipate potential problems

• Coordination of work with trades, subcontractors and vendors.

• Coach and mentor project team members.

• Develop project staffing plans to include labor, subcontractors.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering or equivalent professional experience required.

• Five to eight (5-8) years of experience in project management, engineering, or construction is required.

• Experience working for a General Contractor or Major Mechanical Subcontractor preferred.

• Proficient with scheduling software: Microsoft Project, Primavera and/or Suretrak preferred.

• Completed OSHA 30 class is preferred

• Basic estimating skills preferred.

• Demonstrates an understanding of accounting and financial management required.

The pay range for this position is $84,240 - $137,940 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
