Construction Project Engineer- Banking Industry Construction- Base Salary to 60k/year- Warren, MI
Our client is a commercial GC that specializes in construction on financial businesses throughout the upper Midwest, and nationwide. Projects range from remodeling to full ground up builds for the banking industry. While they are quickly growing, they have been in business since 1972, and pride themselves on proactive project management and a collaborative, problem solving culture.
In this role, the Construction Project Engineer will be coordinating Estimators, PMs, Team Leads, and Site Supervisors to help drive projects through to completion. This will involve working from the Warren, Michigan office as well as on site, including occasionally to out of state projects. The ideal candidate for this position should have construction management experience or education, as well as strong communication and analytical skills.
Responsibilities:
Set up projects, from onboarding subs to assisting with closeout documents
Maintain project documentation in Procore and Excel
Review and analyze blueprints, specs, contracts, and other documentation
Handle RFIs, submittals, prime contracts, etc.
Collaborate closely with the Estimating team in bidding process
Assist in planning, scheduling, permitting, and coordination of projects
Assist in evaluation of costs and impact of revisions, change orders, etc.
Maintain constructive relationships with subcontractors, clients, and site personnel
Coordinate closely with clients as well as internal teams through all stages of assigned projects
Travel on site frequently, including occasionally out of state (1-2 days a month)
Qualifications:
2+ years commercial construction experience
Construction Management or similar degree required
Ability to work full time in the Warren office, and in the field
GC experience preferred
Computer-savvy, proficiency with Excel required, proficiency with Procore preferred
Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret plans and specifications relative to the scope of work and schedule
Must have experience or education in architectural and structural drawings
Ability to travel to different cities/states for 2-3 days a month
Compensation:
Base salary in the 50k – 60k/year range
