Responsibilities
Develop and implement cost management strategies and plans to ensure projects are completed within budget.
Prepare detailed cost forecasts and budget reports, analyzing variances and identifying trends to support financial decision-making.
Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to estimate project costs, including materials, labor, and overheads, at various stages of the project lifecycle.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers and contractors to secure the best possible prices and terms, ensuring cost-effectiveness without compromising on quality.
Implement cost control measures and monitor project expenditures, identifying and addressing any issues that could lead to budget overruns.
Lead or participate in cost review meetings with the project manager and project team.
Perform risk analysis to assess potential financial impacts, developing strategies to mitigate cost-related risks.
Review and approve invoices and claims from suppliers and contractors, ensuring all charges are accurate and justified.
Conduct post-project financial audits to assess cost management performance, identifying lessons learned and best practices for future projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, project/ construction management, or a related field required.
8+ years' experience in project controls, cost control, or a similar role required.
Strong knowledge and proficiency in project management methodologies, schedule and cost control tools, and software required.
Excellent written and verbal communication ability coupled with the ability to work as part of a fast-paced team required.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills required.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment required.
Excellent communication and presentation skills required.
Strong organizational and time management abilities required.
Attention to detail and accuracy required.
