Responsibilities

Brasfield & Gorrie has exciting opportunities for a Planner / Schedulers across the company. Responsibilities include the following:

  • Leading the development of a detailed project schedule along with the project teams input Collecting progress, updating and reporting projects status Performing impact analysis for potential delays and changes Developing and maintaining "as built" construction schedules Working closely with the project management team in setting project goals and understanding the status of the project Understanding schedules to determine duration and logic issues Traveling may be necessary depending on the project needs and location

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred 1-15 years experience working on scheduling of Commercial or Healthcare construction projects PSP certification preferred

  • Knowledge of critical path method of scheduling Strong written and oral communication skills Minimum of 2 years experience using Primavera scheduling software and Microsoft Office products (P6 experience preferred) Familiarity with claims prevention and analysis techniques strongly preferred Ability to conduct constructability reviews for varying construction method/techniques during design or construction

PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Material Planner is accountable for the timely availability of supplied-material, service items and maintenance items required by the production and supply schedules; and in conformance to specified quantities, engineering levels, design standards, functionality, geometry, performance and features. RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY: The Material Planner is responsible for scheduling and expediting supplied material delivery for all inbound materials required in production, service items and maintenance while adhering to KAMTEK's plant standards and upholding the Magna Employee's Charter. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITIONS: * Follow and enforce all plant safety rules and policies. * Follow and comply with all operational procedures/policies as stated in the employee Environmental Health and Safety programs * Understand and promote Magna's philosophies (Magna Operational Principles, Corporate Constitution and Employee's Charter). * Monitor MRP (Forecasts, Stock on hand, customer demand, production schedule, inventory transactions and reject material) on all related production material to protect production and reduce cost * Plan, Forecast, Schedule and Release supplied material demands to meet our production requirements; * Follow-up on delivery timing and expedite the material as needed through line delivery * Follow-up and validate carrier appointments (specified carrier arrival times to avoid excess traffic density) * Special project and campaign assignments, tasks and duties as assigned by management from time to time – including but not limited to: Program launches, software launches, training initiatives, document creation, work instruction authoring, etc. * Use ERP System (CMS) as the Primary means of creating, monitoring and communicating schedules, inventory quantities, releases and forecasts. * Forecast Raw Material to all suppliers (mill sources, processors, blankers, etc.) * Track production and forecast trends to help predict future scheduling needs – audit production rates, pack quantities, scrap factors and cycle times * Generate and Send regular Raw Material releases to all suppliers * Ensure continual material flow into all required locations * Maintain proper lean inventory levels on all raw materials in accordance to process capabilities * Monitor and ensure inventory accuracy of raw material throughout the system * Monitor Raw Material usage and utilization of all Tier 2 Suppliers using Resale Steel * Analyze yield and variances for Raw Material consumption – Investigate variances, identify issues and develop solutions to solve the issues * Track Scrap and Off-fall for all parts and blanks produced – Know and understand the loss rates and usage rates to identify areas for improvement and opportunity * Support Kamtek initiatives concerning 5S, Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen * Monitor Supplier Performance for all Raw Material Suppliers * Evaluate corrective actions put in place at suppliers to support Raw Material delivery * Process returns to vendors for all defective or non-conforming material * Ensure customer systems are answered in accordance to Customer requirements (as assigned) * Support cross training with other roles and serve as a backup for other assigned roles * Follow proper Materials Management procedures * Accomplish all work assignments as directed by management personnel * Promote good housekeeping (5S) * Perform other duties as required.
