Construction Observer

Description Construction Observer Role Description: Huitt-Zollars, Inc has full time opportunities for Construction Observers in the Rio Rancho area with a minimum 5 year's experience.

This role works on-site and performs quality assurance inspections, reporting, review of contract documents and drawings, schedules, quality control plans. Candidates must pass HZ security clearance review. This position works in the field at the project location.

Location: Rio Rancho, NM Education: High School Diploma, Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management and registration a plus Duties: Provide daily quality assurance inspection of construction to determine compliance with contract documents and specifications.

Review construction contractor submittals for compliance with contract plans and specifications. Provide Daily reports of surveillance activities and monthly progress reports. Inspect on-site plant (storage yards and temporary facilities), materials and equipment for full compliance with contract plans, specifications, and OSHA requirements.

Observe construction contractors, subcontractor's performance of work. Provide recommendations to appropriate HZ representatives as to whether work is in full compliance. Provide technical support, review contract pay request for accuracy and process submittals.

Attend meetings for inspection coordination, contract administration, site security and all other project matters. Perform closeout and warranty execution responsibility to include ensuring all necessary documentation is provided. Key Responsibilities:

Ensures quality control measures are being adhered to on projects and daily operations. Understands duties and responsibilities, possesses necessary job knowledge and technical skills, maintains job knowledge current. Assist with appropriate administrative and project support tasks supporting the needs of the project team and office.

Complete assignments on-time, within budget, and with highest level of quality. Routinely proposes and produces more effective ways to accomplish assignments. Qualifications: High School Diploma, Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management and registration a plus.

Must pass HZ security clearance review. Desired 5-10 years of construction inspection experience in roadway, earthwork, concrete or other heavy civil construction projects. This position is also required to adhere to Huitt-Zollars' Core Value Competencies.
