As a Construction Manager you will be entrusted to oversee the Construction Management of significant facility upgrades as well as new construction.

Duties and

Responsibilities:
  • Prepares construction management (CM) scopes and determines level of effort for CM execution.
  • Manages CM contract and budget with client and is responsible for meeting client needs and project profitability.
  • Works with clients and Engineering Team to modify plans and specifications to optimize construction execution.
  • Manages all aspects associated with the construction administration of a large project or program.
  • Tracks and monitors construction expenditures, prepares spending forecasts.
  • Reviews, verifies, processes, and recommends approval for contractor progress payment applications.
  • Conducts site meetings dealing with contractor work progress, schedule, coordination, record drawing and problem exposure and resolution meetings.
  • Conducts staff planning and scheduling of all the onsite staff and staff that come to the site on an intermittent basis; schedules surveyors and testing laboratories as necessary.
  • Serves as lead administrator of the field office on all projects under limited supervision.
  • Assists with recruitment and conducts job performance evaluations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BS in Construction Management, Civil Engineering Or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Valid California Class C driver's license and an acceptable drivers record are required.
  • Minimum 5 years construction contract management
  • Other Required Skills
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Interacts well with other staff
    • Represents the organization in communications and conferences pertaining to broad aspects of engineering assignments
    • Able to represent client in claims meetings
    • Able to effectively manage people
    • Able to market and interface well with clients.

You'll enjoy learning on a variety of projects, and have the opportunity to be mentored by a highly engaged (and highly respected) senior management team!</p><p>As a Construction Inspector with the Construction Management Water Resources group, you will execute onsite construction inspections to ensure the water treatment, wastewater treatment, potable water system, conveyance or distribution project is being constructed in compliance with the contract requirements and applicable permits. </p><p><br></p><p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p><ul> <li>Inspects and reports on a variety of construction projects</li> <li>Advises Resident Engineer or Agency Project Manager and informs contractors of any variances from approved plans and specifications</li> <li>Takes samples of materials, prepares test specimens and assist in conducting field tests, or refers samples for laboratory analysis</li> <li>Checks the location of public utilities to avoid interference with construction work</li> <li>Checks roadway/slope/structure grades, flow lines, and locations of structures</li> <li>Reviews contractor’s traffic control plans and field traffic control; review project safety</li> <li>Inspects earthwork grading, placement of asphalt concrete, proportions and control of mixes</li> <li>Inspects delivery, placing, and curing of concrete and the placing of reinforcing steel</li> <li>Assists PM in review of project submittals, RFI’s, CCO’s</li> <li>Verifies acceptability of material incorporated into the project by Certificates of Compliance, shop drawings, test reports</li> <li>Maintains material and inspection records</li> <li>Maintains a daily diary, photo log, contract item quantities</li> <li>Other duties as assigned</li> </ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul> <li>College degree or min. 5 years’ work experience in related field</li> <li>Valid California Class C driver's license and an acceptable driver’s record are required</li> <li>ICC Reinforced Concrete Inspection Certification</li> <li>ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade 1 Certification </li> <li>Qualified SWPPP Certification desired (not required)</li> <li>2 + years of experience in the supervision or inspection of engineering construction work including reading and interpreting complex construction plans and specifications OR 5 years’ work experience in related trade/field</li> <li>Is knowledgeable with construction methods and procedures, Caltrans and Greenbook standard plans and specifications</li> <li>Excellent oral and written communication skills</li> <li>Able to work well with other people, contractors, agency personnel, the public</li> <li>Interacts well with other staff, public, government agencies</li> <li>Able to effectively operate a computer and basic computer programs such as Word &amp; Excel</li> </ul><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><p>MNS offers a full benefits package, and competitive compensation.
