We are hiring an ambitious and forward-thinking Construction Manager - heavy civil or transit focused - to join our established and growing team in New York.

• You will ensure the successful delivery of key assignments and defined business areas, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with overall vision and objectives.

• You will be responsible for delivery from project inception/brief, through design development and planning, contractor procurement and construction phase in accordance with the overall delivery program and agreed project milestones.

• On behalf of external/third-party clients, you will oversee the project management of the project on an individual and team basis from inception to post-completion.

• You will collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders, up to C-Suite, to implement and manage our programs.

You'll be responsible for:

• Performing a variety of engineering/project management duties related to coordination, quality checks, reporting, planning, and delivering.

• Partnering with the project director and/or project manager, directing the project team (architects and engineers), or multiple teams in the delivery of a wide range of projects.

• Ensuring project completion within budget, schedule and in conformance with specifications.

• Reviewing contracts and sub-contracts and assisting to manage subcontractors.

• Monitoring project financials and reporting to the project manager.

• Developing and maintaining design schedules for approval.

• Resolving client review comments with the project team.

• Assisting in preparing project design review presentation.

• Maintaining action items and request for information to the client.

• Coordinating and directing activities among the design groups.

• Coordinating the development of project deliverables with the design team.

You'll need to have:

• New York/New Jersey specific experience.

• Experience as a project engineer or assistant project manager.

• Ability to adapt to new situations and to react objectively and expeditiously to critical and emergency construction operation engineering problems.

• Willingness to work a variety of schedules and in a field office environment.

• Experience in transit design or construction experience.

• Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or related field.

• Experience in managing large construction management rail/transit projects.

• Strong project management skills and experience managing multi-discipline teams and interfacing successfully with clients.

• Demonstrated ability to manage projects and teams to scope, schedule, and budget.

• Prior experience providing direct supervision to staff, and direction to support teams.

• CCM or PMP preferred; 30hr OSHA required at minimum.

You'll also have:

• Amtrak, MTA, NJT, LIRR, MNRR, NYCT experience preferred.
