Position information: This role will act as a Construction manager for water resource, pipelines, pumping stations water treatment projects in the Raleigh, NC area. Will need construction project management experience and willingness to learn the civil engineering side of construction.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Construction Budgets

  • Can clearly and effectively communicate

  • Perform contractor reference checks

  • Has full understanding and operation knowledge of FNI PMIS

  • Manage multiple on-going projects

  • Adhere to company site safety policy

  • Read plans/specs, submittals and RFI's and performs duties accordingly

  • Produce daily construction and site visit reports

  • Notify contractor of non-conforming work/performs quality checks

  • Keep project manager informed on construction progress and issues

  • Interpret and clarify contract documents for the contractor

  • Manage contractor pay request process for recommendation for payment

  • Independently review contractor's work for compliance with contract documents

  • Manage field orders, change orders, and work change directive process

  • Manage multiple staff on same project

  • Facilitate construction coordination meetings and produce meeting minutes

  • Manage monthly reporting process to Owner Can independently perform and provide supervision on the most difficult projects

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years construction experience with some experience managing a team

  • Good Communication

  • Willingness to learn

  • Strong work ethic.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associates or greater preferred

Physical Demands: Daily job functions may require ability to stand and/or sitting for long periods of time, minor lifting, potential exposure to various chemicals, exposure to hot/cold environmental conditions, exposure to confined spaces, (permit required confined space entry is possible), minor climbing, navigation of fall/trip hazards.
