Position Description:

This position is responsible for the overall management of construction projects. Oversees multiple projects at one time. Responsible for all field resources, at the entity level, including manpower, material and equipment. Ensures construction projects are completed on time and to the client's satisfaction. Assists in staffing, outlining project plans, setting project goals/deadlines, and evaluating performance. Balance customer's needs with Septagon's resources within the context of Septagon's Mission Statement. This position works in close coordination with estimating, purchasing, and other construction managers and salesmen.

Essential Job Functions:

1.Comprehensive knowledge of methods in general construction practices, and the proper utilization and care of tools, materials, and equipment used in construction.

2.Monitors and schedules all construction field forces for entity projects.

3.Prepares or coordinates all required weekly job schedules and determines necessary resource allocations of both personnel and equipment.

4.Enforces company safety regulations and programs for construction activities.

5.Attends pre-construction conferences for clarification of project schedule and definition.

6.Informs support staff of schedule changes and job definition problems or deviations.

7.Ensures all necessary reports are delivered to the appropriate office personnel for processing (i.e. timecards, green sheets, etc.…)

8.Reviews and sign all injury reports related to supervised employees.

9.Coordinates the rental of equipment.



  1. Reviews tickets generated from the purchase or rental of materials, equipment, or labor.

  2. Coordinates and monitors job material purchases for self-performance, as well as delivery of materials and coordinates the reports of receiving all material.

  3. Responsible for the personnel development, performance appraisals, hiring, terminating and salary administration of Entity field personnel in coordination with HR Department.

  4. Monitors the level of quality on Entity projects.

  5. Monitors or coordinates subcontractors as to their schedules and changes.

  6. Moderator of the weekly office meeting.

  7. Coordinates and updates project schedules as needed.

  8. Coordinates and drives timely punch list execution.

  9. Recommends equipment purchases which will increase productivity safety and/or performance.

  10. Manages the Entity Warehouse operations, as well as the Entity Warehouse Manager (when applicable).

  11. Coordinates with Sr. Superintendent in sharing of manpower and equipment resources with other Entities when needed.

  12. Development of 2nd tier employees via mentoring, training, etc.

  13. There skills preferred: good computer skills with the ability to use required software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Project Center or similar. Should also have good smart phone skills, as well as other IT devises and software required per project specification.

  14. Carry the Septagon image and philosophy to the jobsite: i.e., professional conduct, fair solutions, and customer service.

  15. Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are accurately followed and evaluates safety for each project assigned.

  16. Evaluates and enforces progressive discipline for field personnel for misconduct and safety violations.

  17. Ensure accurate execution of tasks associated with employee-held certifications for specialty equipment, guaranteeing adherence to industry standards and safety protocols.

  18. Work occasional evenings, weekends or overtime as needed for special projects.

  19. Punctual, dependable and prepared for work each day.

Qualifications and Skills:

Requires at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Experienced in construction project management.

Display a positive, professional attitude.

Self-starter and motivated individual.

Excellent organizational abilities.

Proficient in oral and written communication.

Solid fiscal management skills.

Demonstrate good time management skills with the ability to multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines.

Possess good leadership skills.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, consumers, and other service providers. Must be a cooperative team player.

Effective problem solving and decision-making skills.

Ability to work well with limited or no supervision.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has supervisory responsibilities over on-site activities and field personnel.

Physical/Environmental Demands:

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this position, simultaneous and repetitive use of the hands, wrists, and fingers is sometimes required. Movements such as stooping, twisting, bending, reaching, crouching, and handling are required. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance and reach with hands and arms. Frequent lifting and moving of 10 - 100 pounds are required. Audio, visual, and verbal functions are vital aspects to performing this position.

Environmental Demands: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
