Summary

DPS Group is seeking a Construction Manager that would be reporting to the Project Manager and is a key member of the project management team. The CM works closely with Contractors and their sub-contractors to ensure safe and successful project delivery by overseeing their delivery approach, management and deliverables during execution (construction/ installation).

The CM ensures compliance with all local requirements and national legislation during execution. The scope of the role covers all areas of construction and installation on the project e.g. civil & building construction, mechanical & electrical and process equipment Installation and the delivery of a completed MC (Mechanical Completion) documentation package in a timely manner by responsible parties. In addition, the CM also manages works interface and onsite execution disputes resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside and support the PM and other project key members in early CPDP stages (Stage 2 & 3) to ensure that Stage 4 is planned effectively and set for success;

  • Responsible for developing Construction Quality Management Plan and Construction Management Plan and compilation with the Project Management Plan. Review of other plans listed in the Project Management Plan (PMP) related to construction activities;

  • Supports Prequalification / vendor selection / RFI and RFP processes and procurement activities which include undertaking material requisition if required and scope of work development for site-based activities;

  • Provide leadership and management oversight for Contractors and their sub-contractors in the construction/ installation planning, sequencing, coordination and interfaces management within the extended project delivery team and wider parties (Operations, Facilities Management, Site SHE and etc.);

  • Ensures that security, materials lay-down areas, project related logistics, housekeeping and waste management is planned and managed effectively;

  • Support implementation of the GE Client SHE Requirements with Project Construction SHE Manager including site inspections to ensure safety rules are being followed and use for Reporting and Observation PM-Vitals;

  • Participate actively in Stage 2 & 3 were relevant especially in Design Review for Constructability, construction execution approach and techniques;

  • Oversee and uphold Construction Quality requirements with Contractor(s) to ensure that a robust in process inspection & testing plan is in place. Oversee and manage the approval of onsite mock-ups and samples from Contractor(s) with the project key members. Oversee the completion and compilation of accurate as-built drawings and Turnover Packages;

  • Oversee the closeout of CPDP Stage 4 by Contractor(s) with a robust Mechanical Completion (MC) walkdown process which includes critical Inspection & Testing documentation, clearly identified Punch Items that have been correctly categorized and prioritized for closeout by Contractor;

  • Oversee the implementation of Permitting/ Licensing Plan during construction phase. Supports the PM and acts as point of primary for Building Controls Authority or other relevant authorities for the project before/during inspections and close out of recorded issues including oversees all relevant documentation submissions;

  • Supports the PM to obtain A0 and A1 signoffs with contractors and vendors.

  • Take ownership of the construction site until TORC handover to the local site operations with H0 and/ or H1 certificate signoff by the key Customer Representative team;

  • Develops and maintains a construction PDR Board of project build sequence and schedule status for team coordination and communication.
