We are hiring! Our Project and Program Services team is growing in the Madison/Milwaukee, WI area! We are looking for a local area candidate to serve as Lead Construction Manager on a 24-month brownfield food manufacturing project assignment.

The Lead Senior Construction Manager manages construction project tasks based on proposal provided by AtkinsRéalis, including daily communication with clients and contractors, and coordinating resources for the completion of assigned tasks, providing project reports as necessary.

How will you contribute to the team?

  • Preparing, coordinating, and reviewing process equipment and building drawing packages with a focus on electrical, controls, and automation work scope.

  • Managing internal, contract, and other resources involved in the pre-design, construction, engineering, and supervising, assigning, scheduling, coordinating, and evaluating contractor work.

  • Reporting issues related to schedule, cost, progress, safety, and design directly to Project Managers, Plant Project Stakeholders, and/or Contractor Managers.

  • Planning, organizing, and directing activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems.

  • Conferring with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.

  • Supporting with project delivery strategies.

  • Scheduling and sequencing the project in logical steps and budgeting time required to meet deadlines.

  • Coordinating the project procurement, selection of contractors, and assisting with contract paperwork and management of changes.

  • Having significant independent responsibility for assignments (including entire projects) where the project scope and complexity are extensive.

  • Coordinating QA/QC quality control plans.

  • Coordinating safety management plans.

  • Coordinating the building permit process and compliance with codes.

  • Directing weekly construction meetings.

  • Preparing daily/weekly/monthly progress reports.

  • Being accountable for the direct execution, inspection, and Quality acceptance of the project per relevant specifications, drawings, scope, schedule, and budget.

  • Organizing all Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation, and Start-Up Activities.

  • Reviewing contractor applications for payment and recommending payment to the client.

  • Creating and monitoring cost reports for the client.

  • Coordinating punch list preparation and project close-out.

  • Performing such other duties as the Supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

  • Complexity: Work involves conventional practice but may include a variety of complex features.

  • Decision-Making: Most assignments are performed on one's own. Makes decisions on technical problems and methods. Receives approval on proposed plans for projects and general direction as to results expected or on unusual problems.

  • Work direction given to others: Supervises, gives work direction to, and/or reviews the work of other technical staff and/or others who assist in specific assignments.

What will you contribute?

  • Bachelor's degree in construction, Engineering or a related field, plus ten (10) years relevant experience.

  • Must have good experience as an electrical CM in food & beverage, pharma, or other industrial/manufacturing type projects.

  • Must have OSHA 30-hour or be willing to obtain the trainings.

  • Must have the ability to navigate Web-based construction management software (often provided by the client).

  • Must have experience with setting meetings, organizing agendas, and keeping minutes for project records.

  • Must thoroughly understand and utilize Information Technology in the performance of work including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Project.

  • Must be highly articulate, have a clear and logical approach to problem-solving, and strong decision-making abilities.

  • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills.

Expected compensation range is between $105,000 - $135,000 annually/hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.

Upon acceptance of an offer, all candidates must go through a drug screen test and background check. AtkinsRéalis is a federal contractor which mandates a satisfactory background screening report and drug test that supersedes state laws.
