Our internships grow your skillset with opportunities of focus in a variety of areas including: field operations and management, safety, scheduling, electrical engineering, estimating, mechanical/electrical/pluming, and quality management.

Highlights of your work with MasTec Utility Services will include:

  • Championing MasTec's Utility Services zero injury safety requirements

  • Completing construction change orders

  • Handling shop drawings, submittals, and the request for information (RFI) processes

  • Assisting with purchase orders and subcontractor agreements

  • Partnering in construction sequencing and schedule maintenance

  • Collaborating with team in preconstruction and pre-installation meetings

  • Assisting with subcontractor coordination meetings and correspondence

  • Utilizing industry-leading technology and software to assist in construction processes

  • Supporting preparation and evaluation of bid packages

  • Work with a project managers and/or a project coordinator to review job close out packages, including plans, and help us with job close-out and job billing functions

Qualifications

  • Are currently pursuing an undergraduate, four-year degree in Construction Management, Construction, or Civil Engineering. Other applicable degrees include: Architectural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Occupational Safety and Health and Environmental Health and Safety.

  • Have access to reliable transportation

  • Possess a current driver's license

  • Are comfortable with exposure to dirt, heat, noise, dust, and a trailer office environment

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Previous internship experience

  • Possess the right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer

  • Have acute attention to detail/accuracy and written communication skills

  • Possess excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills

  • Demonstrate effective oral communication and active listening skills and are comfortable interacting with a variety of individuals via various methods (in-person, phone, email)

  • Have a positive and professional attitude and sound customer service skills

Additional Information:

You will join an exciting and ever-changing industry with a minimum 9week internship with our team. This opportunity is full-time (40 hours/week) during the summer of 2020. Dependent on business need and performance, there may be the opportunity to extend into the fall and semester working part-time as well.
