Job Description: Must have:

o Technical or Bachelor's Degree in Computer, Construction or Engineering related discipline

o Very Good Communication Skills working with leadership, engineers, construction managers, contractors, and consultants

o Must be self-driven, eager to learn new things and be a team player

o Proficient in English (written and verbal) and use of communication tools (Word, PowerPoint)

o Understand data management tools (Excel, databases) and have some basic knowledge of data formats, data attributions, and data consistency best practices

Preferred, but not required:

o Software skills such as SQL database experience, .NET, VBA and understanding of database structure, security, roles, reports, etc.

o Knowledge about industry construction work processes and/or technology such as Advanced Work Packaging (AWP), Workface Planning (WFP), Materials Management, SAP, Bentley ConstructSIM, 3D Modeling

Activities:

o Responsibilities. The Product SME for Construction manages Construction related issues on a global basis to all users of Construction Tools.

SME provides guidance, troubleshoots issues, and maintains Construction related hardware and software solutions. Responsible for coordination, facilitation, and management of data acquisition from various project disciplines and third party vendors required for functioning of construction integration tool.

o Work in a global product support team. Product SME for Construction is a global support role that can also serve as a backup to all other Construction SME's at various locations.

o Work in a project support team. Role is a part of a global EIMT construction team that supports software tools used by construction personnel at various locations.

Applying knowledge of Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools and best practices to lead, promote, and organize effective project execution for capital engineering projects for global businesses.

Developing and implementing Project Information Management Strategy and Plans, applying knowledge of Information Management and communication best practices to project information and data, contributing to overall project success.

Coordinating identification and resolution of project execution issues associated with engineering software tools.

Representing the needs of the Capital Project Team to the Engineering Information Management & Tools (EIMT) department, that supports engineering software tools.

Identifying and initiating improvement opportunities associated with

engineering software tools and project information management.

o Provide User training. Preparation of training materials, conduct training and provides 1:1 coaching.

o Coordination of product upgrades and outages. Helps coordinate product upgrades and system outages with projects and users.

o Product issues. SME for Construction coordinates with Lead Product SME (and other Product SME's) to solve product data integration issues.

Responsible for ensuring all data is available in correct format and structure as required by defined product data templates. Responsible for conducting data processing updates, status updates upon receipt of new or updated information from data providers.

o Product Support. Support Construction users remotely with tools such as WebEx, Jabber, phone

o Safety. Learn and demonstrate safety-based habits and skills.

Value creation. Collect and report business case metrics for value creation.

Responsibilities Under immediate direction and guidance of a Project Manager, the intern may assist in various stages of a project's lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, closing, and servicing of a utilities construction project. Internship assignments will be in the Electric Power Infrastructure or the Oil and Gas Infrastructure segment, and may contain an environmental component. While duties and responsibilities will vary across Operating Units, they may include: * Work with Project Manager for the review of the cost, schedule, safety, quality, and completion of construction projects * Assist in preparation and maintenance of construction progress reports, re-projections, files, etc., required for the construction of a project * Assist with development of project estimates, pricing, and schedules * Assist in creation and maintenance of schedules, budgets, etc., as needed for support of project * Assist in preparation and maintenance of cash flows, monthly billing, and assist in preparing and obtaining change orders for assigned projects * Monitor and report on the health of a project * Make safety a top priority at all times * Work effectively with all divisions of your assigned Operating Unit * Spend time at job sites to gain hands-on knowledge and additional training in construction and design * Bring potential project-related problems and possible solutions to the attention of the responsible party * Intern may frequently be required to sit, stand; walk; use hands and reach with hands and arms * Intern may be required to work outdoors under a variety of weather conditions * Intern may be required to lift and / or move up to 25 pounds * Other duties as required Qualifications Must be a full-time student, currently enrolled in a Construction Management or similar program; at minimum candidate must have completed their sophomore year (Other programs will be considered on a case by case basis) Demonstrates the following: * Basic oral and written communication skills * Familiarity with common word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, project management, e-mail software * Willingness to travel as needed * Self-starter with the ability to manage his / her time and resources * Strong interpersonal and relationship building ability * Ability to be flexible and maintain a positive attitude * Determined and trustworthy Preferred (not required): * Basic proficiency of Construction Management practical applications * Knowledge of environmental aspects (i.e. storm water management) * Familiarity with geographic information system (GIS), i.e., maps, google earth, etc. * Educational, internship, or professional experience in design or construction of utilities and / or industrial equipment and systems * Experience in supervision or management of people or projects * General understanding of budgeting and other basic business management concepts * Bilingual abilities Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without visa sponsorship.
