TRC is searching for multiple Construction Inspectors with LADOTD project experience in Lafayette, LA. LADOTD Embankment and Concrete Paving certifications are highly preferred.

The Construction Inspector monitors daily on-site quality control, construction progress and prepares and submits daily quality assurance reports concerning the contractor's performance relative to the approved quality control plan and safety plan. The Construction Inspector is expected to interpret plans and specifications relating to construction activities and ensure that the sampling plan for the project is being adhered to throughout the duration of the project. Typical projects include civil engineering construction projects associated with roads, bridges, coastal restoration, utilities, drainage, pump stations and sewer lift stations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with either 2 years of post-high school construction related training or 3 years of related experience

  • LADOTD project experience

  • LADOTD Embankment and Concrete Paving certifications

  • Site Manager experience

  • Computer skills including digital camera downloading software and Microsoft Office including MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, etc.

  • Ability to read and comprehend engineering plans and specifications, contracts, special provisions, and shop drawings

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Observation and documentation skills

  • Strong communication skills both oral and written in English

  • Ability to remain calm under stress and work through problems on construction projects
