WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Construction Inspector for our Sacramento, California office. Be involved in projects with our PMCM Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges. WSP has offices in Antioch, Walnut Creek, San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Sacramento, Roseville, and Stockton.
Your Impact
- Read and interpret project plans and specifications
- Monitor construction for compliance with project documents
- Measure, calculate, and document quantities of installed materials in accordance with client policies and procedures
- Inspect road and bridge construction (based on Caltrans Standards)
- Review, inspect, and approve traffic control systems, including lane closures, in accordance with Caltrans' standards and requirements
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs

Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant post education experience in discipline with prior construction inspection experience.
- Valid state driver's license.
- Highly familiar with construction inspection principles, field inspection practices, process, methods and techniques.
- Highly familiar with relevant construction codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
- Sound interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a technical and non-technical audience.
- Sound self-leadership with attention to detail, accuracy, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, and comply with company policies.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
- Analytical mindset to exercise sound judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions.
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, spreadsheets, and tools.
- Ability to provide input and feedback to others in the field such as subcontractors and work colleagues to consistently complete tasks safely, efficiently, and accurately according to specifications.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in closely related discipline
- Two (2) years of education equivalent to completion of a curriculum beyond the 12th grade in either (1) engineering which includes courses in trigonometry and algebra or higher, drafting, computer science, and physics, chemistry, or a comparable physical science; or (2) surveying which includes courses in trigonometry and algebra or higher, drafting, surveying, and computer science.
- Essential professional licensure/certification.
Compensation and Benefits:
WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee's career.
Expected Salary: $61,400- $84,370 depending on experience level, location and other qualifications. Employee's hourly rate may increase if/when they perform services that are covered by California's Prevailing Wage laws on public sector projects, or are covered by other applicable wage and hour laws.
