We are currently seeking a Foreman to join our dynamic Team in the North Seattle Area supporting a major telecommunications infrastructure project.

JOB SUMMARY

The role of a Foreman is a specialty trained employee who has expertise in the construction and repair of overhead plant or RF/ Fiber lines. The Foreman will lead a field crew of aerial and/or underground field personnel to complete jobs as directed by their Construction Supervisor and Engineers.

The Foreman also has extensive training in specialty equipment to service these overhead and underground projects. A Foreman will also have an extensive and practical knowledge of the RF and Fiber network makeup, its operation and network assets for troubleshooting and repair as well as new construction.

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Performs all duties according to prescribed safety procedures and uses appropriate safety equipment.

  • Vehicle and equipment operations from trucks to other equipment as directed and certified

  • Working in manhole systems, verifying and proofing existing conduit systems

  • Rodding and roping conduit systems

  • Towing various trailers with flatbed trucks

  • Provides support for crews during all phases of construction activity

  • Understand how to read and construct from a design schematic of map

  • Understand all inventory and equipment required for these projects

  • Commission safety guidelines

  • Underground work as needed and directed and as trained

  • Lead teams in the field effectively and efficiently as needed and directed by supervisor

  • Understand how to read and construct from a design schematic of map

  • Understand all inventory and equipment required for these projects

  • Certified on the use of equipment:

  • Line truck

  • Bucket truck

  • Cable Reel equipment

  • Saws and drills

  • Ability to climb poles with climbing equipment safely

  • Familiar with NESC (National Electrical Safety Commission) safety guidelines

  • Provide administrative support including submitting and updating paperwork and tracking job activity

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid US Drivers license

  • Clean driving record

  • Required certifications for this position

  • Lift and carry up to 70 lbs

  • Ability to read and understand maps, drawings and diagrams for project build process

  • Must pass UI Test (urinalysis)

  • Ability to read and understand design schematics and maps

  • Climbing certification or related experience

  • Practical working experience of overhead construction for both RF and Fiber

  • Knowledge of Overhead Bill of Materials

  • City, County and State clearance code knowledge and related

  • Extensive knowledge of Network architecture and design for both RF and Fiber networks

  • Flagger Certified for field work as needed

Job Summary The Underground Construction Manager supports the General Manager and is responsible for execution of all assigned project work in accordance with contractual obligations, design specifications, industry standards, permits, schedule and all regulatory guidelines. Ensuring the safety of the public and the work force is a primary responsibility of the Construction Manager. This member of the management team will help define the means and methods for project delivery, network integration needs, will validate overall path planning and will coordinate and share field intelligence with both engineering and program management teams. Team building and motivation constitutes a major aspect of successful performance on this project, and the ideal candidate will have demonstrated similar victories on recent prior projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Project walkouts to ensure design is feasible and efficient; * Project research for projects to include: * Develop site plan and images; * List of site assets; * Define labor and materials for project; * Permitting needs; * Infrastructure and Node or plant connection points; * Locate service needed; * City, County and State requirements or restrictions; * Development of work packet to include project detail, maps, images and supporting files for review by other functional project team members; * Network and asset knowledge and planning to include aerial and underground project labor and materials as defined by the Client; * Responsible for ensuring company standard safety practices; * Safety violation enforcement and disciplinary action reviews; * Will take the lead in Safety training and compliance; * Provides specialized technical expertise in support of the Quality program, including specialized inspection and testing techniques, quality training, statistical methods, audits, quality tools for problem solving and assessment; * Implements principles of performance evaluation in collaboration with the PMO and the Client; * Full responsibility for collection of data deliverables from the field to the Client. Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or related Engineering discipline preferred or equivalent combination of experience and education: * 15 years of relevant supervisory and leadership experience on complex major telecommunications projects: * Strong working knowledge of site analysis, permitting and approvals, budget control, estimating, project scheduling and construction coordination; * Excellent ability to communicate orally and in writing; * Excellent customer and Client service skills; * Strong capabilities in analysis and problem solving; * Must to enthusiastic and driven to excellence; * A strong team builder with the ability to motivate others to strive for and exceed project obligations and expectations; * Demonstrated ability to manage staff and a strong understanding of the entire corporate utility infrastructure functions from planning to delivery; * Understanding drawings, permits and specifications relevant to the fiber, cellular, and/or cable industry; * Computer literate, knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power point) and Adobe. Preferences: * MasTec prefers, but does not require, that candidates have experience in the local area; * Certifications in Project or Program Management and experience utilizing this approach to project execution.
