Construction Estimator

Our client is a Class A Contractor with extensive experience in government and commercial construction projects, and seeks a skilled Estimator. The Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating costs across various contract types (lump sum, line item, time/material, design/build), ensuring adherence to project scopes and specifications.

Key responsibilities include analyzing project documentation, conducting quantity take-offs, evaluating subcontractor quotes, and preparing comprehensive bid proposals. Key Responsibilities: Analyze drawings, specifications, and proposals to prepare detailed estimates for projects.

Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes, ensuring alignment with project requirements. Prepare project bid status reports and manage bid compliance with specifications. Assist in negotiating scope and pricing with subcontractors.

Conduct value analysis and recommend cost-efficient alternatives. Monitor ongoing proposals and collaborate with internal teams to fulfill bid requirements. Foster relationships with new and existing trade contractors.

Position Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 3 years' experience in estimating for a commercial general contractor.

Proficiency in RS Means, Gordian, or similar unit price books. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Strong negotiation skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Familiarity with technologies such as Adobe and BlueBeam is beneficial. Willingness to travel to job sites as required. Physical Demands:

Ability to work both indoors and outdoors at construction sites. Occasionally required to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
