Construction Estimator- Civil Construction- Base Salary to 110k/year- Tuscaloosa, AL
Our client is full-service GC that specializes in large industrial and commercial construction. Operating mostly in the South, they are currently expanding westward and need someone to take on Estimating duties for the civil side of their future projects. Self-performing in most trades, they take on large projects including auto manufacturing facilities and battery plants.
In this role, the Construction Estimator will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive bids for the civil side of their projects. The Construction Estimator will work in collaboration with other Estimators to prepare cost estimates for labor materials, equipment, etc. They need someone with extensive experience in civil Estimating, and the ability to work out of the Tuscaloosa office.
Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs
Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure accurate and competitive bids
Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary information for accurate estimating
Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes
Identify potential risks and opportunities in project bids and develop strategies to address them
Prepare and present detailed bid proposals to clients and stakeholders.
Maintain and update estimating databases and tools
Stay current with industry trends, costs, and best practices to ensure competitive and accurate estimates
Qualifications:
4+ years experience as a Civil Construction Estimator in the construction industry
In-depth knowledge of civil construction processes, materials, and cost estimation techniques
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and blueprints
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to travel occasionally (10% or less) for job site walks
