The Construction Engineer / Construction Inspector assures the performance of WESTON and WESTON Client subcontractors as required by contract, plans and specifications.

Note that this position will support work at a site in Reading, PA. The qualified candidate selected for this position must live within a commutable distance of this project site.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

High school degree required, plus minimum 6 yrs related experience or undergraduate degree in related field with two years related experience.

Have thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction work. Experienced with pipeline, electrical, and mechanical installation, operation, construction, and repairs as required.

Current USACE CQM certification is a plus. Experience working with crews, operating equipment, vehicles and hand tools is also a plus.

Expected Outcomes

Inspect subcontractor for quality and quantity of work performance. Ensure compliance of WESTON employees with safety regulations.

Oversee subcontractors in accomplishing each phase of the job including carrying out closeout inspection. Provide clarity to plans and specifications in the field with minimal guidance from superiors. Make and approve field modifications, after first checking with the Project Managers and or Site Manager, to keep the project moving forward.

Keep daily diary, submit to job coordinator weekly performance and inventory reports to check subcontractor billing and performance. Submit short written reports to area engineers regarding special problems in the area, as needed. Prepare estimates of manpower, time and materials for future jobs.

Develops daily QC report for Weston, client, and end user. Develops and maintains good working relationships with clients.

Other responsibilities include project status review, daily site reports, team, subcontractor and client relations, and various other responsibilities as necessary to ensure construction completion and customer satisfaction. Candidate must be local to the project work which will be in Northern Delaware. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities * BS plus 10 years' experience or equivalent experience in construction management for sites undergoing demolition and/or remediation. * Ability to fully comprehend demolition/remediation contract documents and details, along with a solid understanding of demolition/remediation principals and techniques. * Attend 1st Aid and CPR Classes. * 40 hr. trained safety officer. * 30 hr Construction certification * Must have excellent organizational skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word & Excel * Oversight of electrical work is desired.
