We are looking to add new talent to our growing team! We are currently seeking a Construction Engineer to work in a technical support role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing group and company and get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients. This is a full-time position in either our Charlotte, NC or Greenville, SC offices.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:
Primarily perform technician level duties on construction project sites.
Assist and report directly to the Construction Manager to support daily construction operations.
Supports Site Safety: adheres to the project HASP, attends daily tailgate meetings, monitors construction activities for HASP compliance, performs daily SAFE WORK observations.
Keep detailed documentation of work activities, including development and maintenance of daily field reports and tracking spreadsheets.
Manage and support project submittals, requests for information, and manifesting.
Work as a liaison to design and engineering teams to provide detailed and real-time information of field conditions to resolve technical problems.
Perform onsite air, soil, and groundwater sampling duties as required to support the project.
Assist with status updates to the project schedule.
Obtain vendor quotations to confirm or acquire market pricing.
Be required to work different shifts and long hours.
Extensive travel (>85%) for project assignments - project sites are located throughout the United States.
Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Be a great teammate, have the ability to take direction, own assigned tasks, and seek to assist teammates as necessary to safely complete required project work.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
0-3 years of experience in a similar role
Educational background: B.S. in civil and/or environmental engineering degree preferred, construction management degree considered
Excellent computer aptitude and proficient with the use of Microsoft software programs
Valid driver's license
Able to lift 50lbs at times
Able to direct traffic
Able to operate heavy equipment/learn to operate if needed
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER required
Selected candidate must be able to successfully complete the Company's standard background investigation and reference check
