We are currently looking for an outside plant expert for our Construction Coordinator role. Is that you?

Being a Construction Coordinator at PRG is a unique opportunity for the well-versed in outside plant telecommunications, bringing the best parts of the traditional job. Our Construction Coordinators are well-versed in outside plant telecommunications. We run cable fiber and/or coax for both aerial and underground scenarios. Our people have a passion for the telecommunications industry which gives them several options for career growth into roles such as Project Manager, Construction Manager and more.

Because of the growing demand in high-speed cable, we are searching for a teammate who's committed to working a long-term project to bring our customer over the finish line. PRG has a top client in your area that's got a project that will allow you to spend your days in both the field and the office.

In the field, you'll be asked to perform the following functions:

  • Perform walkouts pre/post-construction

  • Verify as-builts

  • Troubleshoot any build-out issues in the field

  • Verify that subcontractors have the necessary PPE gear to perform work

  • Identify permitting requirements as needed

  • Communicate with any customers in path of construction

In the office, youll be responsible for the following functions:

  • Putting together a bill of materials (BOM)

  • Compile notice-to-proceed (NTP) packages for contractors

  • Provide weekly reports to management on construction activity

  • Follow-up with city municipalities regarding to permitting issues

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in cable construction

  • Educated on local area dig laws

  • Preferred college degree in Construction Management or Engineering

Skills and abilities:

  • Strong leadership skills to mentor and influence subcontractors and vendors

  • Customer service acumen to interpret, communicate, and help deliver client needs

  • Impressive ability to organize and prioritize projects

  • Strong understanding of fiber and coax engineering

  • Computer proficiency and Microsoft tools to create, manage, and present data and reporting to various stakeholders and management

  • Strong communication skills and ability to adjust delivery to your audience verbally and in writing

  • Willingness to use your personal vehicle in the field (mileage reimbursement at the standard federal rate)

  • Interested and able to work overtime occasionally to meet project demands

  • Perform job functions both indoors and outdoors rain or shine

  • Must be able to walk extensively, sit, stand, and climb stairs throughout the day

Consistently ranked in the top 100 of ENR's Top 500 Design Firms, our markets are diverse and include transportation, energy, water/wastewater, commercial development, industry, healthcare, education and government. We recruit top talent and are currently seeking a full-time entry-level Construction Materials Testing / Engineering Technician to join our team in Augusta, Georgia. The individual will be responsible for the following: * Review of civil, architectural, and structural plans and specifications in preparation of field observations on construction sites; * Documentation of field activities, observations, and testing results on construction projects, and their conformance with (or deviation from) project plans and specifications; * Field testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and masonry mortar/grout for compliance with ASTM, AASHTO, DOT, and/or project specifications; * Daily use of Metafield, and/or other field and laboratory information management systems, for recording of testing results; * Communication of field and laboratory testing results with Construction Services and Geotechnical Project Management staff, general contractors, and clients; * Calibration of field and laboratory equipment to industry codes and standards. Qualifications: * High school diploma/GED required; * 0-2 years of experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials preferred; * ACI, ICC, or DOT (or equivalent) certifications preferred, but not required; * Effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing), using the English language, required; * Ability to routinely lift 40 to 50 lbs. (field/laboratory samples and equipment), required; * Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (Company will provide Personal Protective Equipment and inclement weather gear, as appropriate); * Ability to work and maneuver equipment (such as a loaded wheelbarrow) on uneven ground and around active construction sites; * Willingness to travel out-of-town (typically overnight) for short duration assignments. This is a full-time position with competitive pay based on experience.
