What you'll be doing...

This position is to join the Construction Control Management team in the Operations Control Center for the Mid-Atlantic North Region. Control Managers have the responsibility for project managing Construction activity across the region footprint to ensure adherence to the Engineering Work Schedule and will facilitate Construction movement to the Center Dispatch Model. Will work directly with 7-10 Construction Local Managers in their assigned geographic turf daily. Additional functions include but are not limited to Engineering Interface, Resolving Roadblocks, Validating Engineering Work Orders are ready for Center Dispatch, Material Sign Off/ Inventory Control, Project Management, Compliance Management, and Construction Capacity Management and Dispatch Integration.

Must be willing to travel 25% of the time to anywhere in the Mid-Atlantic North Geographic area. Interface regularly with Engineering, Staff Support, Dispatch and Construction Field Operations counterparts. Deliver training, presentations, and reports up to the Director level. Strong collaboration with internal and external partners to optimize and maximize resources. Engineering and Executive Reporting/Analytics experience desired. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Role may grow to include supervision for Direct Reports.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.

  • Three or more years of experience in Construction Field Operations, Engineering, or CMC Role.

  • Familiarity with the following systems: WFA-DO, COA-D, Work Manager, and COA Scheduler.

  • Previous experience delivering reports to Director Level.

  • Familiarity with the Dispatch Capacity Management Model.

  • Experience managing unionized employees.

  • Familiarity with VLSS (GB/BB a plus)

  • Field Operations experience coupled with strong Executive Reporting, Staff Support, and/or Data Analytics experience.

  • Familiarity with the following systems: vBuild, EPM, vSAP, CTC, Manager Central, and Microsoft Office Suite (specifically ability to manipulate Excel).

What you'll do on a typical day: * Maintain vigilant focus on inventory to ensure tens of thousands of SKUs are accurately warehoused and managed to minimize lost and non-moving inventory * Ensure product safety, legal and regulatory compliance, and quality systems are understood and effectively communicated * Maintain the food safety and quality processes defined by international quality standards (ISO, AIB, BRC, FDA, etc.) and customer and organizational requirements * Support site by conducting internal audits and ensuring site is "audit-ready" for all second and third-party assessments * Prepare reports on inspections, compliance attainment, quality assurance results and root cause analysis corrective actions * Coordinate activities for team members, ensuring effective use of productive working hours * Support plant operations in identifying Lean process improvement opportunities What you need to succeed at XPO: At a minimum, you'll need: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience * Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)/Hazard Analysis and Risk-Based Preventive Controls (HARPC) certified * 7 years of experience in quality and inventory in a distribution or warehousing environment including 5 years in food grade warehousing or manufacturing (FDA regulated preferred) * Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) experience (FSSC, BRC, SQF preferred) * Strong auditing skills (CQA preferred) * Proficiency in Microsoft Office It'd be great if you also have: * ASQ CQM/OE, CQE and CQA Certifications * Safe Quality Food (SQF) practitioner * Experience in an AS9100 or ISO environment * Experience with warehouse management and inventory management software * Strong time management skills and ability to work well under deadlines * Excellent verbal and written communication skills Be part of something big.
