Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Monitor, evaluate, and report to Project Managers and Directors on construction project progress and changes

  • Act as a liaison between contractors, subcontractors, inspectors, and Project Managers

  • Answer internal and external questions related to construction processes, procedures, and services

  • Ensure all contracts are followed

  • Ensure materials are on hand and meet specifications

  • Coordinate work with other units and external contractors

  • Manage construction costs to ensure they match construction plans

  • Monitor performance against budget

  • Troubleshoot and resolve construction processing issues or obstacles

  • Must be organized and display effective time management skills

  • Regular and consistent attendance.

High school diploma required. College degree preferred.

Minimum 2 years of experience in Project Management, preferably in the field of construction.

  • Must be able to travel to and work on construction sites. Extensive overnight travel will be required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:


Language Ability:

Possess good public speaking, and creative writing skills. Listen effectively, respond clearly and directly, prepare clear and concise written reports or records and explain information to others. Interface effectively with architects/contractors/city officials, the public, and co-workers, and exhibit sensitivity to feelings of others.

Math Ability:

Perform calculations with speed and accuracy; and identify and correct errors. Must be proficient when working with measurements including fractions. Must be able to do math calculations needed for performing material quantity take offs and estimating.

Reasoning Ability:

Identify problems, gather relevant data, and note possible causes of problem s. Evaluate relevant information, recognize alternatives, and reach conclusions based on evidence. Take action beyond what is necessarily called for, and perform tasks with a minimal amount of supervision. Perform under pressure and/or opposition. Establish goals, budget time, and set priorities to achieve desired objectives.

Computer Skills:

Microsoft Word, Excel & Access, MS Project, Spreadsheets, Database software scheduling programs, Adobe PDF. Ability to learn construction software, such as AutoCAD. Ability to create Construction Project Tracking spreadsheets. Ability to learn and use of Adobe Acrobat XI Pro.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Applicant will be required to frequently travel to locations as part of this position to do regular inspections. The employee must be able to perform inspections from heights in excess of 40 feet through the use of various vertical transportation methods such as ladders, lifts, and scaffold.
