Archer Western a member of The Walsh Group is currently seeking an Assistant Project Manager in our Water Group, for our Big Creek WRF project in Roswell, GA.

The Assistant Project Manager's responsibilities include:

  • Project planning, scheduling and coordination

  • Safety and quality control management

  • Accurate forecasting and management of budgets

  • Change order management

  • Managing critical subcontractors

  • Manage Project Engineers

  • Resolution of problems involving labor disputes, material delivery and contract administration

  • Maintain vehicle, equipment, and tools management


We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent

  • 3 - 6 years of experience

  • Prioritize, develop, and maintain project schedules

  • Strong leadership skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication

  • Ability to prioritize and manage time

  • Strong follow up

  • Ability to establish relationships and lead people

  • Self-motivated

  • Critical thinking and decision making skills

Responsibilities NV5 is seeking a (junior) project manager to join our transportation (roadway) team in Roswell, GA. The project manager will provide both roadway design and small project management to the transportation design group. This individual will provide engineering design, calculations, plan production, and project assistance and management and ensure client objectives are met. The most frequent and essential work activities include: * Complete roadway design plans with limited supervision. * Use MicroStation, InRoads and/or Geopak with Corridor Modeling software. * Complete project tasks within deadlines and work within allotted project budgets. * Assist with mentoring junior transportation staff. * Communicate adequately with all team members. * Responsible for QA/QC process. * Assist with compiling scope and fee for projects. * Assign tasks and communicate task expectations. * Assist with monitoring project finances monthly. * Assist with monitoring accounts receivable. * Responsible for reporting on a monthly basis to accounting the project billing summary for invoices. * Market NV5 to GDOT and local municipalities to obtain new contracts. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering * Georgia PE License * 5+ years experience in transportation (roadway) design * Experience with MicroStation, InRoads and/or Geopak with Corridor Modeling softwares * GDOT (or other State DOT) project experience a plus * Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver's license prior to employment Work Environment and Physical Demands The characteristics described below are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position.
