A Florida based general contractor is seeking an experiencedAssistant Project Manager/Project Engineerwith hospitality experience to join their team in Jacksonville, Florida.This role will be responsible for working to ensure large hotel and resort projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget and assists with management of all aspects of the project including planning, scheduling, and cost control.

  • From initial bid through the final payment, ensure that the project costs are properly documented, controlled and forecasted on a monthly basis including: maintenance of buyout logs, change order logs, and cost reports using project management and accounting software
  • Assists in the review, processing and tracking of all Submittals, Shop Drawings, RFIs and related consultant reviews and responses
  • Collaborates and interfaces with Project Engineers and Superintendents to help resolve any constructibility issues.
  • Assist in bidding and buy-out of materials, services and scopes of work on assigned projects.
  • Assist with the compliance to and enforcement of the terms and conditions of the prime contract, subcontracts and purchase orders
  • Generates and maintains project logs recording the processing of such within the company project management software reporting systems
  • Review and inspects plans and specifications for coordination and value engineering
  • Degree in construction management, architecture or engineering, or related discipline
  • years working experience in hotel/resort construction
Compensation & Benefits:
  • $75,000-$85,000 depending on abilities and experience. Exact compensation may vary and has potential to increase depending on client.

Relocation is available.</p><p>Job Responsibilities:</p><ul><li><p>Identifies and qualifies subcontractors and vendors for assigned scopes of work. Prepares and transmits bid packages and invitations to bid. Receives and analyzes received bids. In conjunction with the project manager, may negotiate and award subcontracts and purchase orders. Prepares and maintains a purchase control log.</p></li><li><p>Participates in design review meetings and reviews and monitors design with particular attention to scope, cost changes, and constructability. May be responsible for applying for, tracking, and expediting project permits.</p></li><li><p>Prepares detailed estimates and cost codes for initial cost control reporting and updates labor cost reports and summary cost reports. Works with accounting to maintain subcontractor and vendor requirements for payment processing.</p></li><li><p>Works with the project team to prepare and update progress schedules including short-term interval schedules. Assists in planning construction operations and sequences.</p></li><li><p>As directed by the project manager, may interact with the client including correspondence, periodic reports, change order requests, submittal of pay requisitions, and response to client inquiries and directives.</p></li><li><p>Checks, approves, and transmits submittals; maintains submittal control log; prepares and manages requests for information and maintains RFI log.</p></li><li><p>Assists superintendent with subcontractor coordination, safety, and quality management, and job site reporting and controls.</p></li><li><p>Assists in the preparation of project close-out requirements including unit cost history, operations and maintenance manuals, punch-list management, and agency inspections.</p></li><li><p>Manages assigned scope(s) of work within the project(s) as directed by the supervisor.</p></li></ul><p>Education/Experience:</p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management, or equivalent.</li></ul><p>Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications:</p><ul><li><p>Knowledge of the construction industry, including methods, engineering, equipment, technology, safety, etc.</p></li><li><p>Ability to monitor resources, including budgets, schedules, and materials, in an environment of multiple, competing demands.</p></li><li><p>Excellent organizational, communication, collaboration, and analytical skills.</p></li><li><p>Ability to understand and execute the company vision and values of Team, Excellence, Service, and Trust.</p></li></ul><p>Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:</p><p>While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds.
