Job Description: We are seeking a seasoned Construction Accounting Manager to lead our accounting team and oversee all financial aspects of our construction projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction accounting and a proven track record in a supervisory role.
This position is crucial for ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining the financial health of our rapidly growing company. Key Responsibilities: Oversee all accounting functions related to construction projects, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger.
Manage and supervise the accounting team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and adherence to company policies and procedures. Prepare and review financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and reports for management. Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards, including GAAP.
Coordinate with project managers to track project costs, budgets, and financial performance. Oversee the preparation and submission of owner billings and subcontractor payments in Procore. Monitor cash flow and manage financial risks associated with construction projects.
Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data. Collaborate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation and support during audits. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in construction accounting and financial management.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Proficient in MS Office Suite with advanced Excel skills. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction accounting, preferrably with a General Contractor.
Proven experience in a accounting supervisory or management role. Proficiency with construction accounting software, especially Sage and Procore highly preferred. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations related to the construction industry.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong leadership skills with a collaborative and supportive approach to team management.
