Generac Power Systems - Work with the leader in the power industry! Our Corporate Headquarters in Waukesha, WI, is seeking a Marketing Manager with SaaS or technology subscription experience to join our expanding Remote Monitoring team.

The Marketing Manager will report directly into our Connectivity product team and will take the lead as a key member of the go-to-market team for Generac connected products. The Marketing Manager will be responsible for partnering with the Connectivity leadership team and across the business to enable revenue and sales growth. This role will meticulously plan and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy. In developing marketing plans, the Marketing Manager will need to be innovative and consider a wide variety of programs and all outbound marketing activities for the connected product solutions that are critical to achieving Connectivity goals that support Generac's overall Connect strategic goals and objectives. This role will collaborate with others to develop the messaging and positioning for products and drive the projects that bring them to life.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute corporate, brand and customer strategies, marketing to both businesses and consumer end users working independently and with cross-functional teams. Design and direct the work of cross-functional project teams.

  • Gather applicable channel, customer, category and product information and intelligence, leveraging available market research and internal and external resources. Synthesize data into facts and analyze trends to create actionable marketing plans targeting businesses or consumer end users and to enable management of the business.

  • Execute channel plans within area of responsibility, overseeing the creation of promotional programming, such as in-store merchandising signage or displays, retailer feature ads, catalog layouts, events (trade shows), and channel-specific marketing support materials.

  • Develop and coordinate comprehensive new product launches including launch kits, promotional materials, samples, literature, and product knowledge collateral to ensure successful commercialization.

  • Maintain knowledge of audience and competitive marketplace through working with sales, marketing and product management.

  • Develop and execute advertising, publicity and marketing communication plans to support defined business goals, utilizing traditional and innovative media.

  • Ensure channel consistency with brand guidelines and point of sale.

  • Write project briefs to initiate marketing projects and utilizes the project brief to define scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Proactively manage scope changes, identifies potential issues and devise contingency plans.

  • Develop merchandising plans including in store and on-line to ensure that the brand, category and product value propositions are properly conveyed to all members within the channel value chain.

  • Work with creative services to identify, select and work with external vendors in the development of marketing materials, including but not limited to merchandising, literature, case studies, product announcements to support the growth and success of the residential and commercial product lines.

  • Collaborate with marketing and connectivity peers to share and apply best practices, and build best-in-class practices.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of product management, channel management, marketing management, project management, sales or business management experience

  • Minimum of 1 year focus on SaaS or technology subscription services

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills as evidenced by ability to develop and deliver compelling presentations and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Demonstrated ability to conceive, create, and implement a comprehensive marketing plan

  • Ability to develop new product launch plans and promotional programs

  • Demonstrated skills in problem-solving, analytics, internet technology and research

  • Ability to understand and analyze information and research to best understand audiences, the market, and the competitive situation and how that relates to marketing activity

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, take an ownership approach for assigned channel and area of responsibility

  • Strong project management capabilities with proven track record of successfully managing shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast paced environment

  • Master's Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field

  • Additional experience within SaaS or technology services

  • Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP

The Marketing Intern will gain valuable exposure and experience across almost all elements of the marketing function and marketing communications. The Marketing Intern - Commercial & Industrial Business will be involved in helping to implement and maintain national marketing programs, including the Contractor Rewards program, the marketing execution of sales promotions, coordination of Generac case studies and ownership of project status updates for meeting preparation. The involvement in these programs will enable you to gain insight to marketing programs that build awareness, drive demand and ultimately grow sales. You will have gained valuable experience in project management, dealer relationship development, program management and marketing communications tactical development and will have had visibility across the broader organization. In short, you will not only have specific projects you can highlight but also broader experience upon which you can build. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Support Generac contractor rewards program through involvement in the monthly promotions and reporting using set metrics to ensure engagement, giving you direct exposure to how a marketing loyalty program works. * Participate in outbound call work to reach dealers and customers to garner approval to use their experience with Generac and its products to help build Generac's case study library and other marketing collateral. Provides direct experience developing what continue to be key tools for marketing and sales purposes. Will also give you exposure to the latest in digital marketing efforts to help share these case studies. * Work collaboratively with other marketing team members to effectively coordinate marketing projects in support of the programs and promotions. Provides you with key project management skills needed in almost any position. * Coordinate marketing project statuses and timelines for the C&I team, enabling you to work closely with a broad and experienced team across the organization. * Execute marketing tasks associated with projects that grow Generac brand awareness which may include dealer communications, reports, website content and other related materials such as brochures, visual presentations, newsletters, direct mail pieces, press releases, and other marketing materials. * Perform other duties as assigned.
