The Opportunity
The position of Confirmation Instrument Technician is within Toxicology located at our Gretna, LA laboratory.
In this role, the individual will be responsible for maintaining acceptable drug testing laboratory performance by the SAMHSA mandatory guidelines and other regulatory organizations for all non-negative test results generated by the laboratory.
Shift:
Wednesday to Sunday
10:30 am - 6:30 pm
What You'll Work On
Responsible for maintenance of all GC/MS and LC-MS/MS instrumentation including but not limited to cleaning and changing sources, changing and clipping columns, pump maintenance, and cleaning injection liners.
Perform any required troubleshooting on instruments not functioning properly.
Maintain replacement parts.
Responsible for training employees on the maintenance and routine use of the GC/MS and LC-MS/MS instruments.
Serve the representative with GC/MS and LC-MS/MS manufacturers.
Maintain the proper method settings on each instrument.
Assist in the development of new methods.
Assist in the maintenance of department inventories and ordering.
Storage of supplies and disposal of empty boxes; as needed.
Must comply with company policies.
Required Qualifications
Competencies:
Advanced ability to understand analytical techniques and procedures.
Advanced ability to understand laboratory instrumentation.
Ability to understand certification requirements for SAMHSA, CAP-FUDT, and other regulatory bodies.
Advanced ability to understand the function of a Laboratory Information System (LIS) and other laboratory computer systems.
Advanced ability to communicate the idea.
Advanced ability to teach others.
Advanced ability to write technical procedures.
Mental/ Reasoning Requirements:
Ability to cope with stress due to production obligations.
Ability to read and comprehend the SOP, Federal (49 CFR Part 40), and CAP-FUDT guidelines.
Ability to communicate with other employees and supervisors.
Ability to provide input and recommendations on operations.

The base pay for this position is $22.00 - $44.00 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
