Configuration Technician

AHEAD is looking for a level 4 Configuration Technician to join the organization. This position will be responsible for following platform documentation, processes, and production defaults in order to properly apply customer-specific, order-specific, and hardware-specific software.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Be able to build and configure computer servers by analyzing data sheets and system requirements provided by the engineering team

• Identify and troubleshoot computer hardware

• Create and configure RAID arrays

• Install and configure operating systems; Windows and Linux

• Flash BIOS and other firmware

• Configure network switches

• Be able to work with little to no documentation

• Help other departments as needed

Qualifications

• One to two years of experience in a fast paced manufacturing facility

• Two to three years of experience with server or networking equipment

• Be able to build and configure computer servers by analyzing data sheets and system requirements provided by engineering and sales

• Great attention to details

• Work well with others and demonstrate a great work ethic

• Work well under pressure

• Meets set deadlines and goals

• Able to work independently

• Maintain 5S standards

• Communicate any issues to supervisor

• Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math

• Physical demands:

• Ability to lift 50+ pounds on a repetitive basis

• Ability to work on feet 8+ hours a day

Preferred Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree

• A+ certified

• Network + certified

• VMware experience

• Cisco networking

• Virtualization

• Data center rack assembly
