Job Description

Detailed Description:

  • Develop Program Configuration Management Plan in accordance with the applicable Statements of Work.

  • Provide Configuration Management services in accordance with the programs' Configuration Management Plan, Configuration Management processes, program development/sustainment contracts, and PMO practices throughout the life-cycle of the program.

  • Manager configuration of software, engineering documents, design drawings, engineering changes and notices, and plan/conduct design audits to enable government ownership of the technical baseline.

  • Evaluate program direction and assess impact on the configuration baseline throughout each phase of the acquisition process.

  • Analyze the impacts of proposed changes to product life cycle cost, sustainability, and maintainability.

  • Develop CM implementation strategy; identify required infrastructure and tools; and propose the baselines that will be managed.

  • Collect, document, and distribute proposed changes to Configuration Control Board (CCB) members who review the proposed changes for completeness, impact, and any unstated impacts on other work products.

  • Schedule and administer CCB to discuss proposed changes.

  • Assist CCB Chair with evaluating proposed changes and provide results to change owners along with authorization to implement the changes that are approved.

  • Track configuration status of all baselined work products and authorized changes to those products.

  • Assist the Government by facilitating Functional and Physical Configuration Audits (FCA/PCA) as required to verify that the work product meets the functional and physical requirements called out in the configuration baseline document.

  • Manage a centralized problem reporting process to receive and maintain status of problem reports, record temporary work product fixes or modifications, and report open problems and temporary fixes to the owner.

  • Must have skills and experience necessary to work closely with program management, systems engineers, quality managers, manufacturing manager, and design engineers in an integrated product team environment.

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field

  • Able to obtain DOD Secret clearance

  • US Citizenship

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of their technical/professional discipline as well as possess a comprehensive understanding and ability to apply associated standards, procedures and practices in their area of expertise.

  • Thorough understanding of Engineering Change Notices, Engineering Change Proposals, Requests for Deviation, Requests for Waivers and the Configuration Control Board and its purpose

  • Experience on DoD programs.

  • Experience with SAP Enterprise Resource Planning system

Job Description The following represents the Configuration, Material Data and SAP/EPDM Administration job function for the FLIR IS Business Unit. The function serves the IS organization to identify and document change requirements and maintains the integrity of the as-designed versus as-built configuration. Additionally, the function manages the EPDM workflows, ensures the integrity of Material Data Master information, control manufacturing processes that ensure conformance to customer requirements; coordinate the review and revision of procedures, specifications and forms; maintain the comprehensive filing system and computer database for all documents to be retained in the document control center. The CM will be responsible for managing all activities related to the following: * Identify and maintain the original configuration of requirements documentation, design documentation, software, and related documentation of Projects and products manufactured. * Verify that only approved and validated changes are incorporated into product documents and related software. * Conduct the identification, tracking and change management of all software, hardware, documentation and COTS configuration items. * Controls configuration of baselines through Configuration Control Boards. * Timely distribution of latest revision level documentation to all appropriate users and ensure that obsolete documentation is removed from distribution. * Ensure quality records and reports are reviewed, organized and filed. Maintain records and logs. * Maintain a computer database of all filed documentation that ensures fast retrieval of documents. * Maintain and update CM policies, procedures and standards. * Conduct training on CM policies, procedures and standards as required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: * 4 years or more of relevant work experience with enterprise solutions (SAP and EPDM preferred) * BA/BS required (Preferred computer science related) * Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards * Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors * Detailed understanding and application of technical documentation and engineering change proposal processes and practices. * Knowledge of configuration management practices. * Ability to analyze product definition configuration data, select, define, and plan incorporation of configuration changes. * Ability to create/analyze configuration accountability records. * Ability to verify that configuration documentation is compliant with applicable requirements. * Excellent written and oral communication skills. * Ability to work in a team environment. * Proficient in MS Office applications, including Word and Excel.
