Job Description:

The Homeland Security Solutions Operation within Leidos is seeking Configuration Management Specialists with strong change management and process improvement skills to support a complex program to provide Agile development and operations and maintenance for critical systems on a mission-critical program supporting the Passenger Systems Program Directorate (PSPD) Interface and Support Processes division within Customs and Border Protection (CBP). PSPD supports the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and CBP critical missions, specifically screening and processing travelers at the ports of entry (POEs) into the United States.

In this hands on position, you will work collaboratively with multiple agile product teams and CBP stakeholders to help ensure the successful deployment of features developed by the agile product teams. In addition, you will work closely with the agile product teams and CBP stakeholders to identify process improvements to streamline the production deployment process.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with CBP to facilitate changes through the governance process to ensure the successful deployment of features to the production environment.

  • Interface with software developers, analysts, and other project team members using Agile SCRUM methodology.

  • Coordinate with CBP and product teams to identify areas within the change management process for possible process improvement.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other closely related field with a minimum of 8-years of relevant experience or 6-10 year of relevant experience with Master's degree.

  • Applicants must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain a CBP BI public trust clearance.

  • 4+ years of experience working with clients to facilitate software changes through governance processes

  • Experience working with clients to streamline governance processes

  • Experience with Jira and Confluence

  • Experience with agile development methodologies

  • Active CBP BI
  • Experience with CBP PSPD

Ensures that all documentation is accomplished in accordance with the applicable guidelines and best business practices. Principal Accountabilities * Reviews contracts and drafts configuration plans to encompass all specification requirements. Assists in the maintenance of the database. May also be responsible for contract data submittal and status on smaller projects. * Under general supervision, responsible for configuration control during product development phase. Reviews design release documents for completeness, proper approvals and system updates, to ensure correct configuration modifications. * Conducts physical and functional configuration audits to ensure that the facilities, mission systems and support systems and changes to them are properly documented. * Reviews and comments upon ECPs prepared by other organizations performing installations in government facilities. * Coordinates with installation team leaders to ensure that the necessary technical documentation is supplied to the team to properly interface with existing structures and systems. Ensures that the resulting changes are annotated on the existing drawings and that the changes are incorporated. * Develops configuration baselines/identification controls for status accounting of ECP's and documentation. * Manages the processing, utilization and integration of engineering change proposals and associated technical documentation. Tracks ECP status using databases in accordance with the specific contract tailored requirements of MIL-STD-2549. * Able to perform all duties to ensure timely, courteous and quality support the customers/affiliates. Knowledge & Skills * Knowledge of PC software applications for engineering, networking, engineering drawings and technical publications. * A working knowledge of project management procedures and database management development structuring. * Familiarity with Government and Industry procurement processes. * Familiarity with all aspects of technical writing; the ability to develop manuals and procedures. * Knowledge of data communications and associated applications to worldwide networks. * Expert level knowledge of equipment fielding procedures and logistical support requirements. * In-depth understanding of interconnectivity, protocol business standards, cryptographic equipment operations and tempest criteria.
