DRS Naval Power Systems (NPS) a multi-site operation responsible for $350 million of revenue with locations in Milwaukee, WI, Bridgeport & Danbury, CT, Fitchburg, MA, and High Ridge, MO with an employee base of approximately 900 employees. NPS is structured into four Lines of Business: Surface, Submarines, Nuclear Instrumentation and Controls and Marlo Coil focusing on supporting the power and propulsion needs of the U.S. Navy. Ensuring that Configuration Management (CM) and Data Management (DM) processes and procedures are fully implemented and are compliant with contractual and internal requirements.
Providing definition of all project documentation required for establishing configuration baselines by maintaining master records in a configuration database.
Controlling configuration baseline through the change management process for the life cycle of a product. Reviewing and analyzing proposed engineering changes to determine the overall effect on the product and coordinate and processes changes through for project team review and approval.
Monitoring and reporting on the status of configuration items and communicating status to team members.
This is a 6 month contract position.
Comprehensive knowledge of military and commercial CM requirements, specifications and standards.
Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree and 3+ years of Configuration Management (CM) experience. Experience with the application of CM-related policies, procedures and tools.
Detailed knowledge of PLM tools, preferably Omnify, Deltek MRP, Teamcenter PDM.
Extensive understanding of EBOMs and MBOMs.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-disciplined teams.
Working knowledge of MS Office
Attention to detail.
Self-starter and independent working attributes are essential
Ability to manage multiple assignments effectively
Excellent verbal and writing skills.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings.
Engineering/Design experience helpful.
Interest in large power equipment.
