Overview

Our Kaman Precision Products (KPP) group in Middletown, CT has an opportunity for a Configuration Management Analyst to join our team. In this position, you will work under the general direction of the Manager, Doc Ctrl and Configuration Management, or designee and provide support to Configuration Management (CM) activities with minimum supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct configuration management activities and assist with creation and maintenance of configuration plans, product baselines, status-accounting reports, data lists, and software control Item Master, Engineering Bill of Material (EBOM), Manufacturing Bill of Material (MBOM) programs. Ensure engineering orders reflect latest engineering requirements. Receive, track and process Engineering Changes records for change control. Review for completeness administer Change Control Board (CCB), update part revisions. Maintain release and track drawing data and other engineering/production documents in paper and electronic media.

  • Identify/mark documents under revision. Enter data into electronic system(s) / Item Master (new & revised). Prepare for change authorization and documentation by internal/external customers, as directed. Route documents changes to Change Control Board (CCB) and facilitate CCB as required.

  • Interface with Contracts, Quality Assurance, Design Engineering, Planning, Manufacturing departments, Program Management, Sustaining Engineering, Production, & Customers to ensure CM activities are complete and accurate.

  • Assist with drawing activity and ensure CM is accomplished within the guidelines of the Configuration Management Manual and Policy and Procedures. Monitor and ensure the CM procedures meet contractual obligations and the established quality system for all programs within the company. Provide input to the establishment of procedures.

  • Ensure departmental equipment is properly maintained and operational. Investigate unusual circumstances or conditions and take or recommend corrective action.

  • In the absence of CM management, or as assigned, attend meetings and provide interpretation of CM policies. Create and present CM Departmental presentations when required.

  • Assist with budgets and cost associated with each project. Gather and provide data needed for proposals as requested.

  • Program support: Additional tasks/duties maybe required dependent to the facilities location. I.e. (hardware returns evaluation support; review & verify work instructions; etc.)

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent, Associates Degree in business or engineering preferred.

  • Must obtain at least Level 1 of Configuration Management Training Foundation or equivalent within 2 years of obtaining position.

  • 3 years' experience in configuration management required.

  • Thorough knowledge of Configuration Management areas such as Change Control, Document Control, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)/ Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and Product Data Management (PDM) applications.

  • Experience in MS Office applications required.
