Position Summary
This position is on-site in Washington, D.C.
National Capitol Contracting is seeking an energetic and service-oriented Conference Support Specialist-Journeyman to join a team of professionals at the EPA. In this position, you will be responsible for supporting conferences, meetings, and events through means of transcription. The position will also be responsible for assisting customers, vendors, and administration with various tasks in the Conference Center.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Responsible for transcription of conferences and meetings using AV reproduction capabilities.
Photograph and transcribe events via digital photography upon request.
Duplicate DVDs and other media formats as required.
Operates a loan service of Government-owned equipment within the conference center for Government use.
Assists customers and AV vendors with logisitics.
Supports AV and VTC administration.
Assist with technical support of all AV equipment in conference center.
Minimum Requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance
2 years of prior experience with configuring and running live events, including establishing sight lines, microphone deployments, presenter support, and gig worker assignments.
2 years of prior experience with technical installation of audiovisual systems, site preparation, and/or understanding of a design/build integrator organization.
Experience supporting WebEx, MS Teams, and other video collaboration platforms
Hardware experience with Automated conference rooms (i.e., Crestron, QSC, Shure, etc.)
Experience with troubleshooting and resolving issues promptly.
Ability to understand and communicate with the client regarding Broadcast and AV systems, equipment, or related technical issues.
Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies and their potential application on client engagements.
Interested and has ability to learn and use new ways of working/using new technical platforms.
Has excellent client management skills; can effectively set and manage customer expectations.
Effectively communicates relevant event planning information to customers and superiors.
Understand how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
Resolves and/or escalates issues in an appropriate and timely fashion.
Ability to effectively work and collaborate with current team members.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 Hour Shift (Operation hours from 7am to 6pm EST)
