This position is for onsite assistance only and is responsible for collaborating with our clients management team and other company employees to deliver an array of customer service focusing on integration and installation assistance in conference rooms. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Operate and test daily functionality of all AV and integrated conference rooms

Perform routine testing and problem diagnosis for projectors, microphones, speakers, amplifiers & LCD/Plasma Displays

Perform preventative maintenance to resolve problem or identify resolution to appropriate vendor or manufacturer

Troubleshoot AV/V problems last minute as required as well as non-critical situations

Assist with company meetings/functions that require use of AV infrastructure (audio, video conferencing, webcasting, visual display or projection, and control system (Cisco, Crestron) operations

Interact with client Customer Help Desk ticketing system to respond to end user requests

Coordinates with client staff to determine AV basic infrastructure requirements for any new conference room or media design

Setup and breakdown of all onsite meetings

Daily system testing to ensure equipment and room functionality

Responsible for escalating all next level break fix issues to their manager for resolution

Perform remote testing for local and regional offices

Ensure all AVS spaces are presentable for use Other duties assigned as needed Skills and Abilities

Effective communication and interaction with employees, clients, and colleagues and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization

Ability to test equipment and perform basic troubleshooting

Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines

Basic computer knowledge

Knowledge of basic signal flow for audio, video and control

Ability to balance multiple tasks with changing priorities

Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written

Demonstrated customer service focus and client communication skills Education and/or Experience

Minimum high school diploma or equivalent

Demonstrated working knowledge of AV practices and procedures

Videoconferencing experience including operation, call set-up and equipment

Demonstrated AV Control experience including Cisco and Crestron etc.

Experience and knowledge of web conferencing tools such as WebEx and Cisco meeting place a plus

Position Summary: The Sr Audio Visual Support Engineer will be a member of the AV Engineering division of the Global Information Services (GIS) End User Services (EUS) group based out of our San Diego Headquarters. Illumina's growth requires us to add resources to the team to assist with the global AV demands that end users and executive leadership utilize daily. The AV team is responsible of 650+ AV rooms globally, this includes our new video enabled conference rooms utilizing the latest Dolby video collaboration technology, ~ 90 Cisco VTC endpoints, training/seminar rooms, and executive conference room spaces. In addition to global event management and UC infrastructure associated with AV services, upgrades to legacy systems as well as additional growth with new site build outs are expected. All About You The Sr Audio Visual Support Engineer will be responsible for managing A/V related projects both local and global to enhance existing or deploy new technology solutions. Concierge executive support, and event management. You will be challenged daily in a leading-edge technology-based company to deliver class leading support to a wide variety of employees whilst striving to continually improve the support and system capabilities as a whole. The right individual will be given the development required to follow a Customer Service and IT Engineering career track. Responsibilities: * Manage A/V related projects both local and global as part of a project team. * Directly provide high profile executive support for sensitive meetings/events on and off premises while working closely with the business and 3rd party vendors. * Performs remote support for meetings, events & incidents as and when required. * Logistical coordination of high profile room bookings and rescheduling of other meetings. * Perform professional preventative maintenance system checks of high profile rooms regularly. * Lead highly technical enhancement initiatives for communications and collaboration systems. * Lead the technical investigation and resolution of AV related issues (problem management and root cause analysis). * Ensures high degree of customer satisfaction throughout service delivery. * Creation of documentation (Knowledge Bases, Reference Guides, Root Cause Analysis, etc.) * Develop and generate usable metrics of communications and collaboration systems performances to drive continuous improvement across the functions. * Creates and matures standard operating procedures and processes for AV team. * Collective responsibility with the rest of the global support team to ensure the Service Management ticket queues are effectively managed based on priority & commitment. * Effective management of your personal ticket queue. * Documents all calls, troubleshooting efforts, and resolutions to company standards while keeping progress communications with end users. * Alerts management to outages, priority issues, recurring problems and patterns. * Timely support and maintenance of AV & video conference rooms & services with escalation to management when required. * Adheres to the department and the Company's policies, procedures and established best practices. * Onboarding of new employees when necessary.
