Job Description

Liason between Convention Services and Banquets. Will work with both departments (primarily Banquets) to assist the Meeting Planner or Group Contact with any needs he/she may have.

Responsibilities

  • Exercise proper telephone etiquette

  • Maintain continuous contact with the Planner, Convention Services Managers, and Banquet Managers on duty to ensure all items on agendas and on function event orders are on time and as specified.

  • Be familiar with lighting controls in all rooms. Have basic knowledge of AV equipment.

  • Assume and carry out special projects delegated by the Director of Convention Services, as they relate to the function space or activity.

  • Provide courteous, personalized, attentive, sincere, consistent guests service by responding promptly and efficiently to inquiries, requests, and complaints using guest service skills, exhibiting hospitality while striving to exceed guest expectations.

  • Resolve difficult or unusual problems arising with guests while maintaining good guest relationships and demonstrating outstanding hospitality through the corrective action taken.

  • Interact with Banquet Departments, AV & Conference Services and staff via radio and Delphi reports on an ongoing basis.

  • Ensure all vacant meeting rooms are 'site ready' for site visit walk throughs.

  • Check all meeting rooms one hour prior to meeting start time to ensure they are set to the BEO.

  • Maintain a complete and thorough knowledge of the hotel, hours of operation, menu content, in-house promotions, location of facilities, room layout, features, events in the hotel, and points of interest in the surrounding area.

  • Assist Setups team as needed by setting room according to standards.

  • Locate and deliver packages to groups if necessary.

Qualifications

  • prior experience with computer programs

  • Must be able to work various shifts including AM, MID, PM and Late evening.

  • Must be able to work Saturday, Sunday and Holidays when groups are in house.

  • Must be able to navigate the interior and exterior of the Conference Center, Hotel, Meeting Rooms and beach.

  • Previous hospitality experience required.

  • Previous experience in Banquets, Food & Beverage, Front Office or Guest Services strongly desired.

  • Must be able to physically assist Setups team in setting meeting rooms.

  • Must be able to pickup and deliver packages unassisted, with assistance from another associate or with cart.

Job Description To go above and beyond guests expectations while providing assistance and services for guests in order to ensure pleasurable accommodations. Responsibilities * To arrange bookings, reconfirmation of airline tickets etc. * Be fully acquainted with the different points of interests. * Assist in arranging for restaurant reservations and limousines as required by our guests. * Ensure the delivery of parcels, mail, special deliveries, etc. to the guest rooms. * Ensure that the public area (lobby) is maintained, clean and tidy by partnering with Housekeeping department. * Accept other special duties as required by management. * Set up all amenities for guests celebrating special occasions. * Set up special packages that include pre-calls from the concierge and specialized amenities. * Interact with other departments to ensure that guest's needs are satisfied. * Speak with guests in a friendly, warm manner making them feel welcome to the hotel. * Proactively work to seek out ways in which to improve the hotel experience for our guests. * Handling of special requests i.e. flowers, telegrams, rental cars, forwarding luggage, private cars etc. Qualifications * Previous luxury hotel experience is required. * Must be able to work a flexible schedule and willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays. * Ability to stand for the entire scheduled shift. * Customer service oriented, ability to multi-task, detail orientation, and excellent organizational skills needed. * Knowledge of the surrounding area and all of its attractions. * Knowledge of Property Management Systems and related computer programs * Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Software.
