AMA is looking for a Conference Center Manager, who will manage AMA's conference center in downtown San Francisco, as well as the western region out-of-center events, in order to achieve the successful execution of all seminars, programs, and external client events.
Direct entire center staff to ensure that AMA's Management Center operation achieves the organization's quality and financial objectives.
Manage the fulfillment and flawless execution of all AMA public seminars, AMA on-site programs, and "external" client meetings.
Direct, provide and coordinate all support services to all AMA faculty facilitating AMA public seminars and all "external" clients.
Responsible for achieving budgeted operational efficiency as well as center revenue sales targets.
Encourage, through personal example, the image and professional integrity expected of all employees in contact with AMA customers, faculty, clients, vendors, and guests.
Responsible for the planning of all capital improvements and maintenance of AMA facility in order to ensure seminar environment meets with AMA standards and image.
Liaison with building owner and/or hotel operator regarding negotiations for sleeping rooms, food functions, maintenance and all vendor/suppliers.
Prepare and administer center operating and revenue budgets.
Screen, select, train and appraise staff performance.
Establish/maintain an effective and efficient working relationship with AMA headquarters.
Develop business and local marketing strategies and initiatives which will produce a minimum net of 20%.
Write business proposals and contracts pertaining to the sale/rental of AMA's conference center services.
Other related duties.
BA/BS degree - business/marketing degree or hospitality management degree or background preferred.
5+ years managerial experience required.
4+ years sales and marketing experience required.
Exceptional customer service skills required.
Strong verbal and writing skills required.
Strong interpersonal skills required.
Must be able to multi-task in a customer-facing and operational environment.
Ability to work well under pressure and meet ever-changing deadlines is a must.
Ability to work early morning, late evening, and weekends as needed.
Ability to travel occasionally.
