Concrete Finisher/Carpenter

General Contractor in Newport News, VA is seeking an Industrial Concrete Finisher who is committed to performing and maintaining the quality work standards established by Hampton Roads Contracting, Inc. It is the owners' goal to employ and develop only the best of employees. Description and Responsibilities:

Perform various tasks as required for General Contractor specializing in industrial construction and renovation. Essential functions include but are not limited to: Read and interpret prints, drawings, plans, and specifications.

Construct wooden or pre-engineered formwork utilizing hand and power tools. Measure, cut, assemble, and install forms, rebar, embeds, and anchor bolts. Install concrete embed falsework.

Brace forms in place using nails, bolts, anchors, and dimensional lumber. Support concrete placement and finishing operations. Place and finish flat slabs, walls, and foundations.

Form and place structural grout. Prepare and patch concrete with repair mortars. Perform other miscellaneous general construction duties.

Job requirements and qualifications: 5-10 years of experience in Concrete Construction. Enthusiastic, professional, and positive attitude. Strong work ethic.

Ability to stand for long periods. Ability to lift heavy materials and work long hours. Ability to kneel for long periods.

Knowledge of hand-held and power tools including power vibrators, polishers, cutting saws, and edging tools.
