Departmental Objective:To provide the CNU community and the general public exceptional quality food and beverage service on and off campus. Ranging from intimate small events to large scale galas, fine dining to picnics, we do it all.
Support the management team in the Catering and Dining Departments and assist all Auxiliary Service departments as needed to carry out the university’s mission. Purpose of the Position:This position will dispense alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for concessions stations and banquet bars at the Ferguson Center for the Arts, as well as banquet bars in the David Student Union. It will also work closely with the Catering management team to ensure all entertainers, staff members, and patrons are provided with timely beverage and meal service.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Related to Position: Ability to work a flexible schedule to include days, late nights, and weekends Ability to work independently in setting up and breaking down work stations Must possess accurate cash handling skills Must be of legal age to pour alcoholic beverages Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required :Education: High school diploma or equivalent education/experience that equates to a high school diploma Experience:
Experience in the food service industry Additional Consideration(s):Experience: Previous experience in a catering or a banquet setting Experience with POS systems/financial transactions Experience bartending and serving in a full service restaurant Experience bartending and serving in a catering company Role Code:79211 Salary Information:Starting at $17.06, Commensurate with Education and Experience Conditions of Employment:This is an HOURLY position and does NOT entitle the incumbent to Commonwealth of Virginia benefits and is limited to 1500 hours in a 365-day period; Selected candidate will be required to attend a 2-Day New Employee Orientation Program.
