Nature of Work
Responsibility for performing cashier duties to include handling cash, operating a cash register, food preparation, general cleaning and maintenance, and providing customer service. Handles admissions and concession sales at Multi Sports Complex and City pool facilities. Work is performed under the general direction of the Recreation Manager.
Essential Functions of Work
Handles sales at entrance and concession of pools, and concession of Multi Sports Complex.
Responsible for cash handling, and cash control.
Maintains order within the front desk area of pool facilities.
Enforces policy rules and regulations.
Keeps front area clean and free of debris.
Updates weather conditions and informs patrons prior to entering pool facilities.
Tracks wristbands.
Operates standard cooking equipment such as grills, cookers, microwaves; cares for and makes minor adjustments to equipment.
Prepares food according to safety directions.
Takes orders and performs cashiering duties. Responsible for cash handing of his/her assigned till.
Cleans and sanitizes work area and equipment in order to maintain food service areas according to standards.
Responsible for maintaining sanitary, serving and eating areas, mopping service areas, collecting and emptying trash.
Washes dishes, utensils, and sanitizes drains.
Stocks and restocks food, snack bar products, utensils, condiments, and inventory
Education and Experience
Cashiering experience desirable.
Some computer knowledge with ability to input data.
Food service experience desirable.
NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 14 years of age or older (in compliance with Child Labor Laws.)

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and the general public.
Ability to enforce policy rules and regulations and warn users of existing safety hazards.

This position does not supervise staff.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in pool entrance or concession stand environment. Employees are exposed to cooking hazards from grills, cookers, and microwaves, weather conditions such as heat, cold, wind, and rain, and cleaning products.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, reach, pull, push, and perform similar body movements. Must have the ability to perform moderate physical work and to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at a time; the possession of hand/eye coordination sufficient to operate cash register, food preparation utensils and equipment; the ability to talkand hear in person or by telephone; the ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations, read and follow oral and written instructions.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
The work schedule varies including evenings and weekends. This position is a non-exempt position and eligible for overtime. Any overtime must be authorized by a supervisor prior to working.
TRAVEL
Travel is primarily local during the business day. Occasional travel may be required to attend off-site training and educational opportunities.
