Overview
The Concession Runner is available for all events to stock and replenish concession stands.
This role will pay an hourly wage of $16.78 to $18.00.

About the Venue
LA County Fair/ Work Season Dates: April 15, 2024 to June 15, 2024
Responsibilities
Responsible for assisting with receiving and distribution control for the venue
Ensure proper transfer process of product between locations, including follow-up documentation
Assist in performing maintenance; responsible for concession and utility equipment cleaning and maintenance; portable equipment, burden carriers, carts, floors, refrigeration, and lighting. Ensure manifested equipment is in location
Conduct walk through of the commissary, warehouse and storage areas after the completion of the day to ensure all areas are clean
Possess a thorough working knowledge of all existing concessions locations; geographical location, equipment, evacuation procedure, adjacent employee and guest areas, and facility access.
Performs opening/closing responsibilities of bar / beer stand; Assure and maintain the area is operable
Responsible for changing kegs / bibs / CO2 tanks / propane tanks / repairing beer stands
Responsible for the initial preparation and servicing of the Bar which includes restocking beer, ice and co2's, cleaning, and other duties assigned by Bar/Beverage management team
Maintains cleanliness of bar area, beer coolers, refrigeration and storage areas to comply with health code standards, includes sweeping, mopping and sanitizing. Stocks and rotates all coolers and maintains cooler temperature log daily
Checks and assists bartender in maintaining adequate amounts of supplies, i.e. stir sticks, napkins, glassware, etc. for both the immediate bar and beer stands
Take pride in personal appearance; reporting to work in neat and clean clothing; maintaining well-groomed hair and personal hygiene as established by Company policy
Working in a team environment with the ability to be team player and assist other team members when business needs dictate
Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations
Runners will be on their feet and moving around (stand, sit, or walk for an extended time; move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps), ensure they have what they need to do their work (read and visually verify information in a variety of formats, including small print; visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines), and taking a hands-on approach to work (move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 55 pounds without assistance; reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping)
While performing the duties of this position, the team member will regularly be required to: Work days, nights, and/or weekends as required
Qualifications
2 + years acting as a Runner or similar role in hospitality, food + beverage environments
Must have own work tools
Must have valid driver license

Ability to speak, read and write in English; will be communicating with beer company
Must have knowledge / willing to be trained how to change kegs / bibs / co2 tanks / repair pvc drain lines/ change light bulbs / etc
Preferred knowledge on draft systems - soda / beer
Must have knowledge of various beers, wines and spirits
Ability to work in a fast paced team-orientated environment with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Knowledge of and ability to appropriately interpret and follow policies and procedures
Ability to meet the demands of the work schedule to be at work and on time, work long hours if needed; maintain excellent attendance
