Concept Designer

SUMMARY

Be a part of something awesome! The Concept Designer is responsible for the concept creation, design, and production of the JOANN advertising collateral including the invention of original artwork, page layout and final release-ready artwork for multiple advertising channels (print, in-store, digital, etc.). The Concept Designer will maintain brand integrity while ensuring accurate, timely and efficient job execution by organizing information and keeping others informed.

JOB DUTIES

• Concept and design for all channels including in-store, online, social, and print materials.
• Follow creative processes to work cross functionally and guarantee all due dates and job requirements are met.
• Collaborate with copy partners and other marketing team members to ensure strategic, well thought out ideas and designs.
• Contribute to group brainstorms and new idea collaboration.
• Follow industry trends and bring forward new ideas to maintain and further elevate the brand aesthetic across all channels.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Education Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Visual Communication, Advertising/Marketing or related field

Experience Minimum: 2 years' experience in similar design position

WORKING CONDITIONS

• This role requires in-person attendance 4 days a week at the Store Support Center (SSC) located in Hudson, OH. Flexibility to work remotely when requested is determined by management and business needs.
• Sit or stand at a workstation for extended periods while maintaining focus and productivity.
• Move around an office space and between buildings on a large campus, including reaching for files, retail product, supplies, or equipment, as well as the ability to adapt to various workstation setups.
• Work standard business hours and extended hours as needed based on task and project demands.
• Utilization of all communication styles - written, verbal, electronic options.
• Lift and carry office supplies, documents, retail product or equipment weighing up to 20 pounds as needed for tasks such as organizing or setting up workstations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Push out of the box creative thinking
• Ability to take ownership of projects from concept to completion, thinking through strategy, project scope, prototyping, final design creation
• Able to work to various timelines, in a fast-paced environment, while always delivering creative that is accurate and consistent
• Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
• Strong attention to detail
• Great communication skills
• Animation, interaction design, video and photo editing a plus
