Position: Computer Technician 2 - Monday through Friday - 1.00 FTE

Primary Purpose:
The Computer Technician II supports student achievement by serving as a resource for users of district instructional and information technology systems. The Computer Technician II primarily serves in the various learning spaces and offices throughout the district providing Tier 2 support and as needed Tier 1 support as coordinated by the Technology Director and the Help Desk.

Qualifications & Requirements

Associates degree in computer technology or two years (minimum) of specialized training or experience supporting computers and electronics.
Must possess and maintain a valid Oregon driver's license with good driving record
Criminal history fingerprint clearance - required
Ability to transport self to work site for the work day

Knowledge: ability to perform complex linear tasks such as algebra and/or geometry; read, understand and explain (in layman's terms) technical information, and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Examples of specific knowledge required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job includes:
Basic networking and operations: DNS, DHCP, VLAN, POE systems, patch schemes etc
Extensive knowledge of instructional tools, computers and operating systems including, but not limited to the following. Operating Systems: Windows, Chrome OS, OSX, iOS, Ubuntu *nix
Productivity Software: Microsoft Office, Open Office, Google Docs and similar.
Current classroom learning tools (Smart interactive white board systems, document cameras, response systems etc) and the capacity to integrate future systems.
Audio and Video files (including mp4, mp3, mov, & H.264)

Operational knowledge of system tools, Antivirus and network security systems
Active Directory, Group policy
Deployment tools: SCCM, MDT etc.

Experience with VPN and remote desktop tool

Salary/Benefits: Salary Range: $22.95 - $29.07
Salary placement dependent upon skills and work experience
Excellent benefit package, district pays PERS contribution
