Position Title: Computer Science Teacher
Location: Ipswich MS/HS
Reports To: Principal
FTE: 1.0 FTE- 10 Month
Start Date: August 26, 2024
Ipswich Public Schools invites applications to apply for a computer science teacher/coach for the 2024-2025 school year. This position will include teaching computer science to students in grades 6-8 using the Code.org curriculum and collaborating with high school colleagues regarding technology-related Pathways.
Integrate technology, design thinking, engineering, and robotics into our curriculum
Enhance student learning through inquiry-based, project-based and an interdisciplinary learning environment
Provide students with relevant, meaningful learning experiences
Empower students to become lifelong learners
Provide coaching to middle school educators in a co-teaching environment
Design learning activities that align with the Successful Habits of Mind
Collaborate with the high school Pathways Coordinator
Supervising and coordinating use of the Zoom Classroom
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior youth experience and a background in teaching STEM
A Bachelor's degree in a field in, or closely related to Computer Science, technology, engineering, or mathematics
Proficiency in Google Workspace for Education (GSuite)
Ability to recognize and respond to the varied instructional needs of all students
Relevant coursework in Computer Science
Interest and experience in co-teaching
