Job Description:

The Computer Repair Technician will be based in Memphis, TN. The Computer Repair Technician will perform a variety of component inspections and repairs on electronic assemblies/subassemblies.

The shift is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 06:00am to 05:00pm

Here is a glimpse of what you'll do:

  • Perform the set-up, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies

  • Responsible for undertaking all actions necessary to render the unit serviceable, including cleaning, testing, performance evaluation of electronic and mechanical components and sub-assemblies.

  • Follow standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained, while providing instructions to others on how to perform said tasks.

  • Perform hand set-ups for digital tests

  • Recognize failures and set-up problems, and determine need for appropriate verification

  • Record required information on all repairs and publication discrepancies

  • Operate programmable auto-testers, samplers, real-time oscilloscopes, pulse generators, meters, power supplies, and special test fixtures

  • Attend meetings, workshops, trainings, and as assigned for conveying gathering information required to perform job functions

  • Perform hands on training while maintaining Engineering Standard Metrics

  • Contribute to and improve techniques and concepts while assisting in developing goals and targets of line/department

  • Troubleshoots/debugs at multiple system levels

  • Performs module verification

Here is some of what you'll need (required):

  • Completion of a high school degree or equivalent

  • Production line knowledge

  • Required 1 year of repair experience

  • Ability to comprehend electronics terminology read and interprets the manufacturing process instructions and visual aids

  • Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

  • Ability to demonstrate advanced technical skills, which may be used to conduct on the job training and lead/guide other employees

  • Can perform analyses and work using some independent judgment
