The Office of Information Technology at the State of Maine is looking for an entry-level Computer Programmer who'll be part of a team supporting the delivery of technology services to State Government.
Overview
The Department of Administrative and Financial Services (DAFS) Office of Information Technology (MaineIT) provides information technology support to over 13,000 employees. MaineIT oversees large scale enterprise applications that support the critical and diverse business needs of the State of Maine and its agencies.
The DataHub team supports a system of data interfaces, primarily written in PL/SQL and Java along with some Oracle SOA Suite, that take DHHS eligibility data from multiple source systems and deliver it to the Maine Integrated Health Management Solution (MIHMS).

About the Job
As a Computer Programmer on the DataHub Team you will work under the guidance of senior developers to provide production support for these interfaces, develop changes in PL/SQL and Java code based on specifications, test other developers' changes, and analyze our code and source system data to answer questions from our customers (our business partners within the DHHS Office of MaineCare Services).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Special preference will be given to individuals who have knowledge, skills, or experience in:
SQL, including a SQL-based procedural language, especially Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
Java or other similar high-level languages.
Source code control systems, especially Subversion and Git/GitHub.
The Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including requirements gathering, documentation writing, test practices, and deployment processes.
Web service development, especially with Oracle SOA Suite or Oracle Service Bus.
Empathy and how to exercise it with a variety of personalities.
Emotional intelligence principles.
Ability to listen and understand first before responding.
Customer relationship best practices.
Demonstrated desire to exercise accountability in a professional manner.
Demonstrated ability to respond in a timely and effective manner.
Cloud computing concepts such as IaaS.
Java middleware, especially Oracle Fusion Middleware.
Linux shell scripting.
