Computer Network Specialist
Position Summary
The IT Technician will install, maintain, and support the computer systems and networks at SSP. They are responsible for achieving the highest level of functionality and reliability. They will interface with our corporate headquarters IT Team and ensure compliance with their network policies and security protocols. The IT Technician should be well versed in computer software, hardware, internet-based applications, networks, and operating systems.
Success will be measured by:
Network and machine uptime at the SSP Facility
Compliance with all HEICO IT policies, procedures, and network security protocols.
Rapid resolution to hardware, software, and network issues throughout the facility
Duties and responsibilities
Order computers and computer supplies
Install new hardware throughout the facility as needed: computers, printers, visual equipment, etc.
Maintain a list of hardware assets (computers, printers, visual equipment, barcode scanning tablets, etc) as well as inventory of spare parts and consumables to support on-going use (i.e. printer cartridges, keyboards, wireless mouse, etc.)
Maintain network switches and patch panels. Ensure there is space for expansion as needed.
Maintain phone system and ISP services (included Contract negotiation)
Order network drops and phone drops as needed
Maintain security camera system and interface with vendor as needed.
Put in Support tickets with Heico IT and Manager for additions, terminations, security changes (ERP and other) Projects, etc…
Serve as the point person for all software installations on the facilities network and machines (applications, ERP Upgrade, etc.)
Oversee Wifi system at the facility
Oversee autobag printers and software in the manufacturing packaging area
Ensure that all obsolete IT assets are disposed of in a secure and environmentally compliant way.
Must be willing to learn Crystal Reports writing to assist management in generating useable data
Oversee Heico IT security training for all IT users
Assist SSP users with hardware and software issues
If Production and QC machines need to be networked, oversee bringing them onto the network and maintain security requirements.
Must be willing to respond to IT related issues at all hours of the day, as some of our operations occur around the clock.
Oversee and managing SSP's web hosting and DSN maintenance / renewals
Identify and recommend Information Technology improvements at SSP. Help bring new technology and systems to SSP so that we are on the leading edge.
Qualifications and Education
Minimum Two-year degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Minimum Three years' experience managing a corporate IT environment
Excellent problem-solving skills - able to break down complex problems into simple solutions
Should be technology savvy and have an interest in bringing SSP's Information Technology systems to the next level.
Must have excellent time management and communication skills. Attention to detail is a must.
